And no, the thread title has nothing to do with masturbation, you sick person. On to the thread:
Ever since I was a wee lad I have always had a vivid imagination, I would run around in the sun and pretend I was a swordsmen killing whatever I wanted, or a superhero, or whatever, I went from necromancy to being a king. I was able to concoct surprisingly deep stories, wether the bad guy was an orc named phil who had a nephew who dabbled in black magic and turned human and ended up becoming a druid in the name of justi- You get the idea. Point is I would always escape into fantasy land whenever I had nothing to do, probably like most kids, maybe.

Then I turned 10, and would jump from couch to couch swinging a pretend sword being a pirate.
Then 13, laying in my bed imagining to be a knight rescuing princesses from orcs and undead.
Now 15, I STILL DO THIS. I still from time to time just randomly am able to dream up a story and will spend hours just explaining important backstory of the world to myself and the heroes in it and everything. And I'm starting to worry myself that I'm the only person that does this. So I have to ask you, the escapists, do you ever escape without the use of videogames?

I do imagine ideas I have for shows and Comics. They are all awesome and better drawn in my mind, then in Real life I usually cut some parts off and I can't animate what my thoughts think.

(Southern USA Accent) Hell yeah!

I don't act it out, but I suck at getting to sleep, so a lot of time has gone into this. If I could just take the time to actually type/write it out... Eh, procrastination. But yeah, I do it, and I'm a few years older than you.

Yes. Yes I do. Except I dream that I am the secret son of Louis XIV of France and the Versailles was taken over by Templar Remnants in "The name of God", and me and my fellow escapees and ragtag buddies and allies must evade the French Secret Police and discover the conspiracy behind it all. And their were many, many delicious French pastries.

I do as well. I recently developed an awesome fantasy/sci fi universe, sadly I was supposed to be learning about the wonders of sine cosine and tangent. Since that was the third time it happened that week, my math teacher flipped his shit.

I'm working on becoming a novelist, so yea, I do this a lot as well. An imagination is a terrible thing to waste. ;)

Man, I'm twenty and I still do that. Of course, cause I'm 'mature', the fantasies usually involve stuff more grounded in reality (i.e. if I had taken that job, if I had gone out with that girl, etc.). Nothing wrong with having an imagination, comes in handy if you want to start writing.

Either you're an amazingly weird American or just a normal Frenchman...

I am planning to be an author because of this "problem". I must admit that it makes being stuck in a line or waiting room slightly less boring.

Yes, I did the jumping around. I don't now, but I'm still thinking of wild ideas. Works great when you write them out, too.

I fantasize quite often, though I'm usually not included in these fantasies. Most of the time, I can think up much more interesting characters than boring, old me.

I'm 18 and I still do that.

I have a story in my head that spans 5 years of plotting that I haven't written down that I physically act out.

I pretend I'm a survivor of a zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead style.

I use old nerf guns to pretend I'm fighting in some war.

Good times.

Constantly. I always try to live like a knight. I carved a sword from wood (for props for something my friend was doing for a film project, but lets face it, it just gave me an excuse). I write fan fictions about characters who sword fight (and is a knight). I went so far as to make a metal yard stick into a sharpend blade (which I've been told i cna be arrested for if i walke doutside with it be a neighbor cop).

So yes, I fantasize about it. Along side winning the Stanley cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins as captain and first line center.

Real world = crap.
Fantasy = anything you want it to be.

Sometimes I immagine what it would be like if we lived in a J.R.R. Tolken style world with humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, wizards, and all that good stuff, except instead of being sometime in the middle ages we're in moddern times with planes and tanks and guns and all that fun stuff. This actually all started with a game my little brother and I have been playing for years, I'm working on writing it all down in a book, might actually be worth reading someday.

21 years old by the way...@#$% yeah.

Ummm... I 'think' alot rather, develop very detailed stories/plots for characters etc in my mind, I haven't acted as such out since I was 8 however, I don't think. (Perhaps earlier)

If you want to stretch your imagination for fun, I would suggest Role Playing Games, not the kind where people are only interested in levels and items, I mean real RPGs. Some of my suggestions would be SL (Sigrogana Legends) on Byond (though low in resources its actually very good in the way of options, and everyone on it is encouraged and required to Roleplay their characters), GmodRP (a friend of mine I've RPed with before plays this frequently, and when I get a decent computer able of the same perhaps I will too) or TSRP (The Specialists Roleplay), not excellent in mods and often times you'll find that how good the Roleplaying is comes down to the quality of the server and the quantity of people. I currently play SL for fantasy type RP and TSRP I played for a long time for a more modern type of RP, both are very fun.

I only suggest this to you because it allows you to exercise your imagination and I assume since you're on here that you're also a gamer.

Oh I do stuff like this all the time. Fun times imaging myself the lone warrior of truth against the endless horde (and all that). Sometime I even got too into it and started acting it out to myself. Hell, I still do that sometimes... Though, I tend to do this more when people aren't watching nowadays.
