The thing with kids is their easy to confuse. My badge on Halo 3 is a red heart in a pink pentagon. As I was sat in the lobby some kid asked.
"Are you a girl?"
To which I replied yes in my deep-ass man voice, he just fell silent after that.

I usually don't use my mic, because most players don't like it when I say anything. Someone pulled off a really awesome kill on me in a COD4 death match, making their grenade ricochet off of three different surfaces and through a window, and when I complimented them on their skill, they told me in no uncertain terms to shut the fuck up. Sorry, kills like that don't come around often.
While it is true that the majority of annoying online gamers are 13 and under, many other groups of people can be retarded as well. I'm sixteen, and my most frequent problem on live is that people don't talk at all, for example: *phantom 4112 has joined game* "Hey guys, what's going on?" *All the players stop playing and look at phantom* "Umm, what's up everybody?" *phantom 4112 has been kicked by the host. Reason: You talked. Do you think this shit is a game or something? No, online gameing is serious bussiness, shithead. Next time, rack up the kills. There is no fun allowed in here.*
Sorry for the huge example, but thats how I feel in online games. Why can't people be serious but have fun and have jokes and conversations as well?

hey, I'm young eough to be considered a 'kid' by old people (which is anything from two, when you stop being a baby and 18, when you can vote. I'd probably react the same way to this sort of thing. Just because somebody's voice hasn't broken doesn't mean that they are an annoying douche. There's a film on Youtube using Garry's mod for Half Life called War of the Servers which highlights this hatred of young people. It's basically a version of War of the Worlds where the martians are replaced by juvenile players called 'Mingebags' Just because I'm young, doesn't mean I'm a douche who has an IQ of three and a tendency to see the hilarity in toilet humor.
EDIT okay, since somebody else admitted it, I'm fourteen going on fifteen, and I'm not annoying online. (please send angry messages if you disagree, maybe I hould just put my inbox on a USB and fire it to the moon)

There is a small minority within my age group who actually takes the time to think about their sentences, judge what they say, and not spout out 'like' every third word or speak in questions all of the time. These are the few who should be allowed to talk over a mic with adults, otherwise it seems obvious that they just don't possess the maturity to play most games with voice chat capabilities (keep in mind that the Mature games ARE recommended for age 17 and up).

Really, it was his innocence. Some other kid on the server who was probably the almost adult age of 13 was swearing at everyone for his dying (It's not his fault, after all), and this 8 year old was like 'Hey! Swearing is wrong. You shouldn't swear.' and, of course, that got the other kid even more mad. So then the kid says "You need to put down the controller, and talk to Jesus. You need Jesus right now. You swear too much."
Now, I am, myself, a Christian. And man did I find this hilarious. I don't know if the 8 year old was being funny on purpose, or what. But if he was, he didn't flinch or break once. No snickering, nothing. The mic version of straight faced talking to this other swearing kid. It made my day. The other (swearing) kid quit in frustration, and I played about 4 or 5 more rounds with the younger kid. Always the same: Decent player, very polite, always told other people they needed Jesus when they swore like crazy. I loved it. I was smiling the whole time.

Well, that's friendly. I'm sure that you were never annoying in any way at all when you were a kid. Also, I'm what you define as a kid and I can spell and punctuate better than you can. In other words, one reason you hate kids as a whole is because they are better than you. (ok, I admit I'm probably not so good at the game, but on the other hand I can spell)forever saturday said:

Yeah I hate kids too. They always want to show you something they think is interesting. Or tell you something they think is interesting.
