Well, I'm not a huge fan of DnD, but for me, this could be a gateway to more enjoyable content...

Now I don't know about ya'll, if I had a bunch of pornstars in a room then I would not be playing Dungeon and Dragons with them. In reality, if I had a bunch of anybodies in a room then I would not be playing Dungeon and Dragons.
I am guessing the principle of the series is expressed thusly:
(.)(.) + nerds = $
Now if I was running the joint then I would get the lovely ladies, throw them in a room with Yahtzee and film what happens. Give them a task to do such as play guitar hero or something you know, fun? I think Yahtzee could handle it. Or perhaps get them to discuss the geopolitical situation or take a quiz. Something topical.
I dunno, I'm just rambling here. But get them talking about SOMETHING. How about a music review video? Isn't any of that on the site. Just argh, anything but nerd games. Seems so contrived, even though I'm sure that one of them was telling the truth when she said she had been playing for years. Having said all that I would watch a video of them discussing Star Trek. So I can sympathise with the .7 x .1 crossover group that really do enjoy the concept.
I don't really understand where this came from. The people aren't that interesting either, and if people aren't interesting in a video like that, the video is boring. If somebody asked me if I wanted to watch pornstars and strippers playing D&D I'd say no.
Well...I'll keep watching to see if it improves...but so far it screams of a gimmick. Sort of in a "OMG PORN STARS PLAYING DND THEY'RE SO HAWT *drool*" kind of way. Which is probably going to be amusing for about...3 episodes. If they're lucky.
I was hoping for some actual playing, like how Penny-Arcade had their D&D sessions recorded. Just, let the players play. Don't try and get them to talk to the camera, if anything discourage it. If you want to use the reality show method of interjecting afterward thoughts every few seconds that's fine.
...because that's the obvious gimmick. "A bunch of cool people playing dnd"? I'm curious...what exactly was cool about them? We got virtually no insight into what they're like...other than the fact that they're porn stars. And they play DND once a week. Seriously, watch the video again. Nothing interesting happened. And if you read the comments, the flames aren't about "OMG THEY'RE PORN STARS" but how boring it is. So yeah, if they weren't "in the business," I'm pretty sure this would still be flamed.Darwins_Folly said:

Nope, it's not just you. I play DnD and there was nothing amusing about this. Especially since it's 100 times more fun to PLAY DnD than to watch it. It's like watching someone complete a crossword puzzle...for them, it's intellectually stimulating and a challenge. For you, it's like watching paint dry...unless you're participating too.Markness said:

Maybe if you film the actual campaign and not the dull side conversations. Lighting the bar on fire could have been interesting, but the ending was instead "lets listen to them bicker." Hope it improves.
I disagree actually. As someone who listened to the Penny-Arcade shenanigans (which had Wil Wheaton as a cameo for some reason) I find hearing/watching other campaigns to be quite fun. Especially if the players are witty or banter in an amusing manner. The only problem with this segment is that it didn't let us see them do anything other than talk about talking. It didn't let us get a chance to see their personalities at play. When they were talking about killing people and setting the bar on fire, my interest was piqued.Bakaferret said:

Yeah I agree with you, I watched like the first minute and just thought "So it's a bunch of goth or punks (dont know what you'd call them) playing D&D.....how entertaining" All I got from it was it's just some guy filming a group that plays D&D.....only good one episode unless like in the next one they get sucked into the game and have to battle the evil dungeon master and his hordes of minionsMisterpinky said:
