There was more roleplaying this episode, so that's a good thing. This show still kinda sucks though. Why the Escapist is producing this is beyond me.

Turned into a wolf... Reminded me of the sweet days when unforgotten realms was on the escapist and every thing was sunshine.

Ohh yeah, still don't like this show...

Yeah, because rolling dice is really at the core of role-playing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amber_Diceless_Roleplaying_Game [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amber_Diceless_Roleplaying_Game]

Also, i think you missed the character creation part of the last episode.
There have been a lot of very interesting discussions on how necessary Dice are to Roleplaying in both the Indie and Mainstream game'o'spheres, my favorite comment on Dice is that they provide a random element that can change the story in ways nobody expected, not the players, not the GM. They can also provide a fallback when you can't quite muster the necessary creativity to play without them.

Actually that's pretty much what everything in Roleplaying is, a support system for play and imagination that you might not otherwise be able to muster.

All the intense Troll rage towards Game Dogs and I Hit It With My Axe makes me lament the old days when The Escapist used to be a fairly friendly place that was stunningly courteous for an internet forum. Now it seems we've become like every other site on the web, this thread being only marginally less full of assholes than your average YouTube comment section.

I have nothing against game dogs and i just doesn't like this show? Does that make the escapist a unfriendly place? No my good sir, it doesn't. The escapist still have much more friendly and fun members then most other sites.

Yeah, i agree to that. I love when something unexpected happens because of a epic/epic fail dice roll. But, I don't think having any dice rolling in 10 minutes is out of the ordinary. I often see hours between rolls and that's all right, more so in the intro of the game.

I come from a White-Wolf background (played Exalted [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exalted] since it came out) so that can explain why i'm not much into dice (a lot more dice rolling in dungeon crawling game than in story oriented games)

Edit: also, when players roll 25D10 on their attacks (5 dex + 5 melee + 1st excellency (10 d10 more) + 3 accuracy on your average Daiklave + a 2die stun), you may want to limit battle against random shit to the minimum lol

That comment wasn't specifically aimed at you, more of just a general statement piggybacking on yours. But seriously, look at some of the earlier posts, damn unfriendly, angry, trollish stuff that might have gotten people banned 2 years ago.

(Almost) every film maker knows not to take that kind of unfriendly comments personal, since the poster shows how unmature he/she is. And alot of people here seems jealous that this guy got a show on the escapist :p
And yeah there are some really unfriendly comments here, but then we have comments like this one :)

So does it really matter if it's hard, if it's not interesting it's not interesting.
This gentleman has hit the nail on the head. Sure, its got hot girls and its about roleplaying, two very good subjects, but this does not instantly mean that combining the two will be a success. Pretty logo though.

I'm liking it. There's certainly room for improvement, but I could see it getting a lot more interesting once the game takes off a bit. Keep at it!
I do think that most of the other comments are a bit too severe, but this is the Internet. *sigh*
Thanks a bunch! When I play other people's D&D Shows/Podcasts I like it when its long and I listen to it/watch it in the background when i'm working. My personal opinion is that this show should be at least 10 minutes long if not 20 minutes with "previously on ..." commentary at the begining of the show so you can really get into what is going on and connect with the characters better. But I'm not the editor or producer. Its really up to them.
I whole heartily agree that a "previously on" section would do wonders for this. Being dropped in to the middle of this with understanding of, or connection with the characters makes this more confusing than I think it has be.

Despite the rather fragmented story telling here I found it rather amusing and I'll stick around to see the future episodes of this.

Ok a few tips aka reasons I am having trouble getting involved in this show:

1. I don't know or connect to any of the people, to me they are names and faces. Maybe take some time to get to know each person and their D&D character? then have a little overview of what happened during that game?

2. The story, what is the goal here, to play D&D? to save princess peach? to show me porn stars are people too? Make this clear.

3.I want to see the evolution of the people and the characters see first point.

4. The game seems a little rushed due to lack of detail, this could be due to time constraints or limited video time, but more detail for the quests, characters, and world.

5. Let the girls shape the mission, she wants to kill the inn keeper let her, just make every action have a reaction, I want a sandbox D&D not a linear story, this will help us get to know the players.

6. Add some humor more-to-come needs to show up as a villan :)
(this should D&D lite for those people that have little experiance with it or those who are trying to quit)

EDIT do not mess up your own name, they will never let it go

What the hell do you guys want? Here's a thought, how about instead of bitching like a bunch of whiny fanboys you actually suggest how the show could be improved? This is a rare opportunity to actually HELP a production rather than just shit all over it, and none of you are taking advantage.

Every new show goes through some growing pains, and I'm not ready to give up on this one yet. Lighting: MUCH better. Pacing: Getting its stride. Editing: a lot tighter.

Zak et. al., you're not there yet, but you're getting the right idea.

I know I'm going to get flak for this like I always do when I disagree with the self-important geeks around here, but if I actually cared what any of them thought, I'd never speak my mind.

Unlike the majority of commenters, I know what its like to produce a show and edit video & its bloody HARD TO DO.

So let them feed their own egos by dumping on your ideas, if that's all they can bring to the table then too bad for them for their lack of imagination or creativity. Its a whole lot easier to tear something down than to try and help improve it.
I agree with you on this, and the first episode was hardly gripping but it will be nice to go back to for reference to the players. I wouldn't mind seeing an episode where one of the girls turns the camera on Zak and we get to know him more.
It is way to easy to just trash something you don't like, but not to try to be constructive about it and give suggestions? That is so weak.
Any anybody who wants to be more interested in this? You merely have to go here [http://dndwithpornstars.blogspot.com/?zx=d70ace2bab66c61c] to get deeper into what's going on. Then maybe you can appreciate seeing the live action more. Otherwise there is plenty of other Escapist fare you can go to.
I for one enjoyed this episode, and would like to explore the politics of goblins.

I actually kind of like this...

I don't love it but I don't get the hate either. Maybe it's just been awhile since I watched any reality TV.

Plus the strippers hair is fascinating.

He/She/it called me a man :)

Also yeah the log is rather cool, but just a bit cliché have pink for girls (which I assume is the main "selling point")

This series looks like it has some great potential to be entertaining, unfortunately it skips around a lot so i never quite figured out what was going on. Still like it though :)
