The thing I find weird is all the people who were saying "Did anyone besides MovieBob like it?" I'm not sure where people are getting that. I watched the MovieBob review and my thoughts were "I'm gonna watch it anyway"

He even criticized that the plot was kinda weak and that the main focus of it was good music and decent fight scenes.

Anyway, as for my thoughts on it...I watched it at the discount movie theatre, and I bought it on DVD. I've watched it a few times, and I think it's ok.

It's not the greatest movie ever, but it's a unique experience. Whether you like the movie or dislike it, you can't argue that it's unique. Then you have to decide where that's a fault, or works in its favor.

I understand why people don't like it, and they understand why I did. It's not a movie I wanna watch again and again and again, but I liked it enough to pick it up.

I loved it, and I'm a film enthusiast... I have no idea why no-one else seems to like it...
Many people came into the film being told it was very deep and meaningful. They were met with explosions and characters with little to no dialogue making deep sacrifices you cared nothing for.

If I came into the film wanting tits and explosions I'd have been fine, but I'd been told it was deep and clever. It wasn't.

Highly underrated film, and don't see what's so complicated or so "sexist" about this film. This is why I hate critics, they get payed for being closed minded.

This movie had like what 20 percent on Rotten Tomatoes? That would mean the opposite, that everyone thinks it sucks.

I couldn't even finish watching it.

...no one likes Sucker Punch. It's shit. The soundtrack is the best part of it.
Yes...NO! THEY"RE ALL COVERS... WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS ALL THOSE GREAT SONGS! CRAPPY MODERN COVERS FOR "SEARCH AND DESTROY" AND "WHERE IS MY MIND", but have an actual Bjork song in there. Why?
OT:Well, I hate that movie to Hell and back. It makes no sense, and it has no meaning.

I got to the point where she went into that bordello fantasy and turned it off, I was so lost cuz they didn't explain what had happened at all. Really stupid move on the director's part
But yet we ***** when movies or games hold hands too much. God forbid a movie let you make your own conclusions, right? That's too hard.

Critics aren't the voice of the public, there just people who get paid for their opinions. so no not everyone thinks it sucks.

If it was a comic book I would have flicked through it and called it derivitive wanktastic shit.
Just because it's a movie doesn't make it any better. I love how everyone points out "well Snyder said it's a deconstruction of the male ideal of female empowerment." (or something)

Funny how all the publicity screamed "300 with lady-tits!" and I found myself not really convinced at the end that I was supposed to view those action scenes with some kind of irony. Maybe I needed Snyder sitting next to me explaining what was ironic and what wasn't. And don't get me wrong I like quite a lot of his work but I just wish he could take a break from genre movies for a bit.

Speaking of Moviebob: He has gone on record many, MANY times talking about how action should be handled in movies. It should serve the plot, have clean composition and well realised. I find it funny because when he reviewed this one he must have been looking through steam tinted glasses. It was horrible and in no way should it have felt so murky and badly rendered.

As for the music: it just reminded me of the better versions of the song they were covering.

Emily Browning is hot, that is why I watched it. Whole reason.
I take it you missed one of the main morals, then?
The movie had "morals"? I found it kind of hard to see any deep meaning in it when the whole film was just an excuse to see stick-thin, Barbie-esque girls with schoolgirl fetishes blowing shit up. It was pretty, that's the only positive I can think of.

I thought it was terrible. Boring and dull, and overall i found the entire thing silly and pointless. The action scenes were just lame (for the most part) and the story was just plain dumb. The only thing decent was some of the special effects.

300 was an awesome movie because it was what would be called cheesy, however it played it well and to its advantage, it would be cheesy if it had been filmed in the 1980s with really terrible props/costumes but it wasn't so it seemed good..

The same applies to sucker-punch, they could have put a dragon into that movie and made it look good.. oh wait they did..

TL:DR , it was a fun movie not really meant to have meaning or be revolutionary and not to be especially remembered afterwards, the escapism idea was only in there for a stable plot.. The movie is all about giving you OMG moments because it sets off your geek receptors.. not that you have to be a geek to get that though..

I liked it, but Moviebob describes a deeper meaning to it that I completely failed to notice when I watched it.
