I liked ME3's ending

The ending was some good ideas, just badly presented. Stuff like meeting the creator of the Reapers and deciding how they are dealt with and the rammifications that would have for the galaxy is definately an epic idea and a fitting conclusion to the series. But they let it all go to waste by excluding the other writers, giving it a rushed, unedited feel and having the all-powerful Reaper-creating entity be voiced by a fucking five-year old. Seriously, everythig else about the ending I could stomach, but that kid really needs to die (again).

Still, no matter what you thought of the ending, the rest of the game was exellent and did everything else brilliantly. I'm on my third playthrough and still enjoying it. If not for the controversy, we'd have a definite Game of the Year on our hands.

Story wise, I like it too. I'm not a subscriber of Indoctrination Theory as such, but the ending, for me, is open to so much interpretation, I've came up with my own head canon, so much so I'm debating whether or not to try my hand at fan fiction before the DLC comes out.
Basically I think the Reapers are messing with your head, like in the IT, with the boy and everything but I don't think the final part of the game takes place in your mind, it's as real as any other part of the game. Although I think the Reapers are trying to Indoctrinate you and talk you out of destroying them. Also the ghost kid is lying liar who lies, so he can just shut up

I didn't like the way it was implemented though, purely for the fact that everything was all dramatic and suddenly I've got this whiny kid droning at me for 10 minutes, explaining what everything does.

Also, I was surprised there was no "lose" scenario, where the Reapers do win and continue the cycle, say if you took too long deciding which ending to choose.

by the by, I chose Destroy, since it was the only one that made sense to me (again, story wise) The other two endings fit in, but that's linking in to canon.

In saying this, though, I'm looking forward to the DLC to see what actually happens, and get a bit of closure, even if it will end up dumping all over my ideas.

I havent even played ME.

Im just fucking tired of these "I like/dont like something" threads. They have no discussion value and they just make the OP look like an attention whore.
Except this is a controversial matter and PERHAPS MAYBE the OP wanted to see if anyone agreed with him, or if he just couldn't see why people disliked it and needed some aid.

Actually, there is. If you don't act after a certain period, you'll get a game over scene saying the crucible has been destroyed.
Meh, I was a little let down by the ending. I didn't entirely hate it, but it had problems. There were a couple of plot holes, some bugs and everything could have been explained better. I had no ability to stop and ask questions at the end.

If you don't like these threads then WHY are you here?

Annnnd, the only thing so far I find any bit stupid is the gltich where someone you had in battle ends up on the Normandy. There is no beaming up in the Mass Effect world. But it's just clearly a glitch.
Back in my day, we called those "plot holes". Something happens and it's not consistent with the events surrounding it.

But I didn't mind the ending. Could have been better, could have been worse. It's basically a significant portion of video game endings. It played out according to my expectations. It's either stupid or really smart with stupid bits thrown in but I accept it anyway.
I... don't see how it could've been worse... Only if the God Child suddenly revealed itself to be the Architect from Matrix, Shepard gaining Neo's powers and Reapers turned out to be Agent Smith. Harbinger being the original one.

I think my biggest problem with the ending(s) is not what they were but what they weren't.

The endings to the first two Mass Effect games changed depending on how you'd played, paragon or renegade.

For Mass Effect 1 this was just a dialogue change, with another variation depending on whether you'd saved or let the council die. In Mass Effect 2 your entire team was at risk because you needed to gain their loyalty or sent them on the wrong job.

Yet at the end of Mass Effect 3 nothing you'd done previously mattered. A ruthless renegade got the exact same dialogue, the same three choices of colour, as a shining paragon.

To me that was a wasted opportunity. They didn't need to make huge changes but even something small, like some dialogue changes as in Mass Effect 1, would have given players something back for playing in a certain way.

Why does it have to be here? This forum is not his fucking live journal where he can go "I KINDA LIKED IT". There have been a millin fucking threads focusing on this already and making an another one just to share your opinion about it is at this point just fucking obnoxious.
You're the only one that cares, or at least cares enough to show up and rant. Sucks, doesn't it? Funny story, you don't to post in this thread. Or even respond to this actual post. WEIRD!

No worries. I enjoyed the ending too. (100% destroy reapers ending for me) I about half expected the entire Bioware staff to come out and cockslap me in the face at the end the way everyone talked about it. But yeah, I thought it was a good ending, kinda regret picking Miranda as a love interest now. Should've picked liara, especially with her scene at the end between her and shepherd. That game was too good.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, honestly. As someone who disliked the way it ended, I will say that I can see why you didn't have a problem with it. If you become interested in why others are so passionate about their disdain for the ending I'll just direct you here

But if you liked it and don't wish to give it a second thought then just breeze on past the links.

Question to the OP out of curiosity, was this your first ME game or have you been playing since the first game?
I'be been playing since the first game. I've played through each game twice so far, and plan on replaying ME3. Part of the reason I was pleasantly surprised with ME3's ending was because I thought ME2's ending was really terrible.

EDIT:
ME2's ending being terrible is also just my opinion. I didn't like how narrow the two possible options were, and it bothered me why you couldn't just keep the station and then just show it to the council to prove the reapers. On top of that blowing it up seemed like the renegade option. And even if you do blow it up cerberus still salvages parts of it.

The ending could have been better. What annoyed me more was the rehashing with different colours than anything else. All the OTT bitching is hilarious. But i still love the characters and stories and the universe and hope they will make other games based in this universe.
