Double post.
I blame March.
Leave March alone alright? Shit.

Ontopic: It's not your fault really but don't you think you're overreacting? She sounds pretty forgiving considering she just lost an Ipod.
I probably am, but I really hate doing anything wrong. She surprisingly has been forgiving...so far. But what about tomorrow?! I live in fear...
God you remind me of myself when I do something I think will piss off my girlfriend.
The key word in that sentence is think. I've had that feeling before and I know how much it sucks, there is really nothing you can do except hope for the best or just buy her another one.

Since you were not aware of it until it was already gone, then I would consider you completely NOT, repeat NOT, responsible for it.

Some advice for finding it: Don't freak out. Think about where you were wearing the sweater, and calmly retraced you steps. I myself just spent two weeks looking for my video camera, and only after I stopped looking did I find it in the first box I opened.
I've got the feeling that some young hooligan came around and done took it. This one is probably gone for good...
Thanks for the advice, though.

I wouldn't say so, but then again, this is a woman we're talking about here. They're working on a whole other level when it comes to blame and responsibility.

Yes.

If it isn't your fault it has to be hers, which can't ever happen.
So it is ALWAYS YOUR FAULT.
Exactly.
Are women monsters? That's the vibe I'm getting from what you're saying...

hahaha It's probably because she's my first girlfriend and I'm still afraid of screwing up. I've discovered that relationships are a LOT of trouble.

I had this same issue a little while ago and while my girlfriend said it wasn't my fault I still got her one cause I felt bad. If you can't afford an ipod nano I would say at least offer to help fund another.
I probably will end up helping her out with buying a new one. There goes my milk money...
you don't HAVE to help pay for it. I'm just saying it would be a good gesture and earn you brownie points. Unless she's one of the "don't pander to me crowd, i'm too independent." I've known those people and all you can do then is just say sorry and nothing really else....

No no, I get what you're saying. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't help her get a new one. Then again, I do like chocolate milk...

Yah this. She isn't really blaming you she's just looking for something/one to blame that isn't herself. Hehe ...don't worry about it she knows as much as you do that you didn't lose it, just puppy eyes and tell her your sorry and she will feel guilty for blaming you.
Am I a bad person or just a mirror reflecting psychology?

Nanos are pretty small and light. Unless she said something, there wasn't really any way of you knowing. You're not a horrible person, and the guilt you feel for something that wasn't your fault pretty much proves that.

She left it in your pocket, so it's her fault.

She'll make you buy a new one even though it's her fault for doing such a thing.

don't feel too bad, after all it's just an ipod. I don't think it's your fault (she is the one who left it there) worst case scenario, you have to get her a new one. Even if you don't find it or replace it once away, she'll be fine.

No, it isn't your fault. You should stop worrying about every little thing, it's a sign of being a mammal.

Also, I'm a bit disappointed in the people who think she'll force him to buy another one. Just because you had one bad "relationship" doesn't mean it applies to everyone else.....

Clearly her fault. Why you would put something valuable in something else someone owns and not tell them is beyond me.

I hear Max is still around there somewhere...

OT: it was an accident you lost it and her fault for not telling you/keeping track of her stuff. also I'm pretty sure it will turn up somewhere.
