This thread is too awesome.
Hahahahah I can't hear that one without thinking of the Venture Bros.!!!
You probably caught my post regarding Jim "Foetus" Thirwell as the man behind the OST for the Venture Bros, on the first lap... But just in case:

EPILEPTIC/PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING on the first video. [small] You might not think so for the first part of the video but by the end you're realize I'm fucking serious![/small]

These are all full music videos.

I've a passing determination to bring more attention to this brilliant musician who's been making unclassifiable music since 1981. Is he Industrial? Rockabilly? Techno? Metal? Polka? Foley? An exploding casino? Sometimes all at once...

Beyond doing all the original music for Venture Bros. there is also a throwaway line during season 1 when the Monarch is accusing Dr. Girlfriend of sluttery when in exclamation he points to a picture and yells, "HE'RES A PICTURE OF YOU SKINNY DIPPING WITH JIM FOETUS!!"

George Thirlwell (also Jim Thirlwell or J.G. Thirlwell)

Profile:
Native of Melbourne, Australia, J.G. (James George) (Jim) Thirlwell conceived the basic Foetus concept, when he relocated to London in 1978. His first appearance on record is with the post-punk synth-pop group pragVEC; the first Foetus release "OKFM / Spite Your Face" appeared in January 1981 on Thirlwell's own Self Immolation label. Relocated this time to New York City in 1984, he operates since then under many monikers: mainly Foetus

Whatever the hell Daft Punk is, because that's the only electronic music I've heard and liked enough to want to listen to it again.

I like some techno, preferably the stuff that classifies itself as Electronica.

Speaking of which, I made an entire album [http://www.villafuzz.net84.net]'s worth of Electronica in the weekend... I can haz feedback?
Woah, holy shit dude, I have an electronica band no one listens to as well! I have some stuff on Youtube. Name is x^2. you can look it up if you like. You'll have scroll down a lot though.

There are so many of us.

As for feedback, well yes, you can has. I listened to every track, and I can say that all of them are pretty good. Rockin' Alive, Haze, My Twisted Massacre, and Coldstorm were the best tracks in my opinion. You might want to try polishing your sound a little bit. The first couple of tracks especially seems very empty and bare, and could definitely be helped by some reverb or something. Try making the sound more finished, I think is the best word. Make sure the tracks are complete before putting them up. But the Album you've got up there is good and is definitely going on my iPod in the event of a download link.
Wow, you're the first person to like Rockin' Alive o_O
I tried looking for your music, but I can't find it... link plz?
Thanks for the feedback, too.
No problem dude, always trying to support my fellow indie artists!

Heres my stuff:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TLJjv6EW1I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs7ZdoRv46Q

The first two are from my first EP and the other four are from my first ever full length album that I'm still working on.

I have two EPs done right now, and I'm looking for ways to release them. I wanted to do something with selling them over itunes or something, but I might just give them away for free like you have.

This is a pretty diverse group of tracks, but these are the only ones I have up right now.
Nice one(s)... what program are you using? I don't have much money to spend so I'm using Linux Multimedia Studio at the moment...
I especially liked Mona Lisa and 59, Sunshine is a bit too clashy. I can see what you're going for, but it completely drowns out the drums.
[small][sub]42 isn't a prime number...[/sub][/small]
Thanks! I use FL Studio 8 Producer Edition to make my stuff, with the help of a Novation Midi Keyboard. It costs a lot, but I'm 16, so my parents can still buy me stuff!

[small][sub]I know 42 isn't a prime number, it's a reference to Douglas Adams, with it being the answer to life the universe and everything.[/sub][/small]

I'm a big fan of Trance, House, DnB, Dance, and Electro for a while now, really most electronic music other than techno and hardstyle. I love electronic music, I have lots of friends who DJ and mix, I wanna get into it but it's expensive for gear and takes lot of practice to be really good.

Trance
Vocal Trance
DnB
Dance

Time for more kicks. STS9 remix fun!
Been kicking around the idea of buying the Make it Right remix album, so I've been listening to those today. Amazing how completely different a song can go when it's put in someone else's hands for fun and charity.

"Original" (Live) version. No studio upload exists, I dun wanna make one...

When Glitch Mob does their thing...

...and Pretty Lights deconstructs it completely.

Original (Studio) version.

Eskmo rewrite.

Original (Studio) version.

Telepath works it over.

And there's like 30 remixes on this album. Soooo considering it....

:D

I certainly didn't mean to imply you wouldn't be familiar with him, but unfortunately, as I'm sure you can agree, for a man so prolific, awesome and dedicated to his music he see's little recognition. :(

Glad you liked the videos! There's a lot of bootlegs and live stuff on youtube you've probably explored, but I didn't think they'd be as catchy a showcase to share with the escapist body.

Now for some live Mexican "Hellektro" - I'll concede the singer has a lot of energy and there's lots of flashing lights, but can it carry the show? I think it would have worked better with a smaller stage and audience, but hey....

... it could be WORSE:
This is really awful, I warn you.

Trance Metal?

That makes we want to eat ecstasy and smash my face with a brick. At the same time.

I'm at odds with this. Too much polarity. Like sitting in a freezer and setting yourself on fire. Some things should never be mixed, and aren't a good idea to start with.

I agree that was pretty awful :D

Happy/metalcore/etherealgoth/limo blingin' club tunes?

Good assessment. I think it kinda suffers from spinning too many plates at once, too. No real blending, just a great big mess when all the plates inevitably fall to the ground and the listener is left with a bunch of different colored slices of porcelain.. or... video edits..

Now for something really good:

Hell of a track / backing film to end a live set with.

And also, this is one Dali-Esque music video:
