I love the Escapist

Okay so I joined back in 2006 (apparently) and have only started up a week or two ago, and already I love The Escapist (not trying to suck up) if it's not the community of people its the ability to swear without being reprimanded (banned) *cough* gamespot *cough* I've been searching a lot of sites lately and have seen many people who just don't care about what you say or even post their own opinion but not The Escapist (okay yes The Escapist but more people post their opinions here then other sites i've seen)

So tell us why you love the Escapist so much!

This place has a lot of fun people, an above average intelligence level in regards to the rest of the internet ( more or less) and it's the first site that I've actually bothered to post this much on over more than a year... 'Tis fun, and addicting.

Because they have some entertaining programs and the forums are fun.
I've been watching and clicking around for around six months before finally breaking down and making a profile. First forum I've ever joined seriously.

However, I do like it here. I've found a lot of friendly (and some unfriendly) people on here, and the majority of the people on here are pretty cool.

Its the first forum I have ever been on that I actually felt like there was some sense of a community. I attribute that to both the moderation as well as the exceptionally high (percieved) intellegence of a large number of members here.

I like the shows, the columns, the forums, the members I know, and my personal favourite part - the IRC channel. Some great folks in there.
This is really the only forum that I care about, since people discuss everything from videogames, to music, to novels, to life itself.

Anyway, the topics and shows on the site are extremely interesting. the moderators, though strict and petty at times, help keep the forums from being like 4Chan. Everyone is at least somewhat friendly and every post I have read had never make me want to pluck my eyes out.

This site is a god among sites.
