I'm just waiting for Heart Gold to come out. My favorite game of the series with improved graphics you say? :D
Indeed, I'm expecting Heart Gold to be the best in the series. Let's just hope they don't add a bunch of lame new pokemon as well. Improve the graphics and add running shoes and I'll be completely satisfied.

I miss the good ol days of pokemon. I would like to see a revival of pokemon in the form of an very well made 360/ps3 title but I doubt that will ever happen.

Well lucky that the newest series is the Gold/Silver remakes (Soul Silver+Heart Gold) if you ahvnt heard. Already out in Japan, coming to US in Spring i believe.

Based on some youtube videos it's a pretty exact remake, just with modern graphics.

And since Pokemon is Nintendo, anime+games+cards, likely to never to a non-nintendo console ever have pokemon.

I'm sorry, I couldn't live without my Tyranitar, Crobat, and Typhosion. After 2nd generation it got a little crazy...

Not really.

I tried to play Red again recently. I found myself frustrated endlessly with some of the issues of it. The lack of running boots for a start. Call me impatient, but I loved those.

Yes, I loved the way it worked with Stadium. But time goes by. Advances are made.

That said, progress can be taken too far. The newer games have yet, in my opinion, to surpass Ruby/Sapphire, because they've made so many advances it's slowed the game down.

I was happiest with the 151 originals. I don't so much mind new ones coming along, but things just get more jumbled over time. I may well still be getting HeartGold though, because my girlfriend wants to get SoulSilver and I'm nothing if not whipped...I mean, accepting.
Lugia> Ho-oh anyday :)
Ho-Oh's better stat wise, plus Sacred Fire is crazy awesome. Although Psychic is crazy awesome...

And Ho-Oh has less weaknesses, even if one is a ×4 weakness.

OT: I like pretty much all the pokemon, although I've never played Diamond or Pearl.

Pokemon is just as great as it's always been. The only reason most people don't want to like the new games is just that they don't have the nostalgia factor that the originals do.

And to any people out there who say the new Pokemon are just stupid, I submit to you that if you think about it, a giant turtle with shoulder mounted water cannons is pretty stupid too.

Blastoise is still awesome though.

Who else misses the days of blue/red/yellow? and having 151(Happy?!) of them!

Oh, and gold/silver were awesome. Heart gold and soul silver are coming out, so more of the good old stuff is coming out soon.

[small] I'm quietly dieing in anticipation for a rematch with Red.[/small]

The new gold and silver games will have all 493 (or something like that) pokemon in them. They will also be compatible with the other three games of this generation.
So, basically, you will be playing an updated version of gold and silver which work like the red and green remakes; first you play the old game with some minor upgrades (and today's generations graphics) and then you will get the national dex to hunt all pokemon down.

My favorite game of the series is gold but the first generatiopn holds most of my favorites.
Generation 1-3 was good but 4 can burn in hell!

The only thing pokemon has that i want in the near future is the remake of gold and silver, we (the older gen) get a great game back, and the other gen gets to see something done right!

They allready did that

Hence "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver"

I know that I was talking for the main story.

Classic ones are by far the best but some of the newer Pokémon are still pretty damn awesome.
Where would my Dragonite, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur and Raichu be without my Lucario?
Not to mention my more recently built squad is 50% post-151 Pokémon...
