Persona 4 maybe? It'll take you at least 50ish hours to beat the game once... And then there's New Game Plus

It's a freakin' amazing game.

Baldurs gate 1 or 2, preferably in order with the expansions.
This. A thousand times this. I've played those games dozens of times, and I'm sure there is still things I have yet to do.

If you need a long lasting game, you need Red Dead Redemption.
RDR keeps me up all night for weeks, and it has some interesting "endgame" content. And it doesn't take long to play to get what you want (at least not for me. RDR, your such a slut.)

If you like Sci Fi with a rather quirky nature I would give a hearty recommendation for Space Rangers 2.
I like the cut of your jib. Space Rangers 2 is great. Seconded. Also Football Manager (insert year) has kept me going - but fails to meet the "end game" criteria. I enjoyed Dawn of War and Medieval: Total War campaigns. I also enjoyed Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2 - can be played in sections. Otherwise RDR is OK - but I didn't really totally buy into it - I have struggled to maintain momentum on The Witcher 2 - difficult to play in segments I find.

How about re-discovering Thief?

Ahh, crap! How is it not posted yet? Deus Ex HR?

If it is half the game the original Deus Ex is, it will be sex!

And yeah, go and get The Witcher 2.

Wild arms 1 - 5. Wild arms games are one of the best games for extra content there so many optional boses , optional dungeons , secrets. Etc...
Another game are SMT games : digital saga , persona , nocturn .
Suikoden games are good as well , finding 108 stars of destiny could take some time with or without gamefaqs
How about tactical rpg? Final fantasy tactics, argrest war , disgaea ? 100s of hours of gameplay.

I dug up a few old games last week and have been playing Neverwinter Nights again.

That games pretty decent if you need something to keep you occupied.

Myself i'm trying to pass time until Deus Ex comes out. Bring on Friday.

How about Titan Quest? I'm not sure if I can properly recommend it (considering I've hardly played it) but apparently it's quite a lot like Diablo 2 and it sounds like the kinda thing you want.

nethack: http://www.nethack.org/
its bully big brother slashem: http://www.slashem.org/
ADOM: http://www.adom.de/adom/download.php3

Dwarf Fortress: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/

These games are free and have no graphics but the gameplay is deeper than you will ever see in a modern title

Planescape Torment: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/planescape_torment

it isn't the longest game but it has, in my opinion, the best writing of any game ever made

Final Fantasy X is really fun once you get over some of the more painful voice acting

Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 for PSX have a lot of gameplay and are solidly put together

Really? I think it's easy to find long games these days. Where the hell do I find a short lasting game?

Dragon Age: Origins with Awakenings and all the DLC.

It'll last you a good 80 hours (or more if you take your time).

EDIT: And if you ignore what everyone says, try Dragon Age 2, and enjoy it, that's another 50 or so.
Dragon age sucks
Thanks for stopping by.

Mhee, the first one i managed to play twice semi interested, the second one i quit as soon as i saw how lazy was the plot and boring the world.

But to each it's own. I can't get myself to like Persona, think its BOOOORING in it's gameplay, like profoundly boring, akin to taking DQ boring and then make it even more shallow.

Well, if you have a PS2, try Final Fantasy X, Persona 4 and Shadow of Colossus.

I know this may sounds crazy. However it is a franchise we can all fall in love with.

All the old Final Fantasy games are great, take at least 30 hours to finish and, as Jimquisition pointed out, have a lot of replay value simply because they're fantastic games. 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are all brilliant, with 9 being my favourite. Even if you've played them all before, they never get dull!

Don't fall for Neverwinter Nights....
It's a horrible, horrible game...

that is, unless you're a REAL HARDCORE D&D fan who can deal with horrible controls, poorly executed design, and just.... bad....

Probably because Deus Ex: Human Revolution isn't an MMO/RPG. However, I was just about to suggest that as well.

OP, you said you'd prefer a MMO/RPG, but...get Deus Ex: HR instead. Do it. It's like a new age-y Metal Gear Solid.
