I know lots and lots of great Japanese bands and I can go on for hours with suggestions about Jrock bands, though my knowledge of more English oriented bands are rather limited.

I need more Japanese bands actually! Please recommend me some!

Now I like to listen to music while I work on my computer but I recently lost 90% of my music because Itunes is being a real asshat. So can I get some band recommendations, I'm not very picky about music, if it sounds good I listen to it, whether it be swing or grunge or even disco. I really just want something new, so please throw some bands out there...

The birthday massacre. they kind of have a 'gothic alice in wonderland' vibe. you could call it new-wave revival or goth rock or synth rock. normally i'm not into any of those things, but they mix normal rock and synth together so well, its a rare joy for me.

Uh, no, they aren't. Black Metal is very underground, with low production values and simple instrumentation, growled vocals and songs about Satanic or occult themes.

Children of Bodom have screamed lyrics, and have songs about Death and hate, with very technical instrumentation, almost the definition of Melodic Death Metal, with a hint of power metal from the keyboards and some of the riffs.

Even Encyclopedia Metallum agrees.

Did you maybe get the genres mixed up? Happens to me all the time, should have seen the flames that happened when I mixed up groove and thrash metal...
