The best advice has been said quite a few times already but it really is the best solution; forget games for a couple of weeks, I just leave my xbox/computer alone for a month or two when I get like that.

find an author you like and read a couple of their books, or catch up on a tv show you told yourself you would watch but never got around to, and then when something you want to play comes out go back to gaming and you'll find that same joy you used to get.

Have you considered that maybe you just have too much to play? I've been in situations where I've had six or more new games to play, so I tried them all without really getting hung up on any one and felt strangely paralyzed when it came to deciding which one to play, which led to me not playing anything.

As a few people have mentioned already.

Terraria is a great game, and it's pretty damn cheap too.
I've been playing it for the last few days and I'm still enjoying it fully.

Uh. Saint's Row 2 is pretty mindless fun, if you're into that kind of thing.
Alternatively, you can play the games Yahtzee say you should never play, try to discover good things, and, when you can't find anything good, go back to playing the good games. Might work.

Oh, and if you like RPGs, play Chrono Trigger. Best RPG I've played in ages.

I've reached the point in my life where it seems that not one video game can keep my interest for more than a few days. I've tried many games but nothing is keeping my interest. Could someone suggest some games that might last a long time for me?

I really enjoy sandbox games, first-person shooters, and adventure games. I don't particularly dislike any genre.
Have you tried playing the Elder Scrolls series? Morrowind is one of my all time favorites.

Although this may sound bad, i would suggest taking a break from gaming for a while. I took a month long break after getting tired of playing my games (and losing intrest in ones part way through like yourself) and have enjoyed playing them ever since i got back playing them. Trust me, you wont regret this.

Older rpgs such as Fallout 1&2, Planescape: Torment, and Arcanum are good old games that can keep ones attention for months or even years.
You also mite want to consider that you may not be as much of a gamer as you think you are, so try other activities. Or try different types of games, I know many gamers that found they preferred pen & paper or board games much more then video games.

Could you list some? I love indie games.
Off the top of my head (meaning `I played recently') Braid, Penumbra (Overture and Black Plague), Eversion, VVVVVV, World of Goo are all good (in my opinion).

Mount and Blade: Warbands
This right here. I have over 120 hours played and about 80 of those are on ONE MOD called Prophesy of Pendor. There are probably five or six other mods out there that play like their own game as well. There's also the new version called With Fire and Sword or something, but I haven't tried it yet.
With Fire and Sword is ridiculously annoying. Some peasant with a rifle and pin point accuracy will take you out with one shot all the damn time.

Yeah, that doesn't sound very appealing. I'll likely buy it anyway, just because I like to support the developers. Mostly in hopes that they'll release something on a new engine sometime in the future.

WoW, ummm, there is always the option of just going out instead of playing games. Do push ups until you can't anymore, then run, repeat.
I'd concur with this. I've been feeling similar, and I've been remedying it with just not being inside. It is summer, after all.

But I'm planning to try to absorb myself into some new games, mostly LA Noire, DNF, and Bulletstorm.

How about you go down the opposite road and only play games that last less than a few days? There are plenty of indie games on steam and other such websites that fit that criterion.

Just visit Kongregate. They've got new games every day. In fact, I kinda wish I never discovered it. I wasted so much time there...

THIS GUY! this is the guy. You ever have one of those days that's just shitty, your tired, your hungry, and boy, when you get home, Your gonna play the SHIT out of some game? Well based off your post no, not for a while you haven't. I could be wrong ofc but wither way. One way to really learn a new appreciation for something is to not have it for awhile. Deprive yourself and realize how much you enjoy it. Whether it's school, work, or anything else, not getting to have any personal time makes the time you do have so much more enjoyable.

It's kinda like eating cake for every meal. You eat cake the first few times and enjoy it, but after awhile you get sick of it because it's not special anymore. It's no longer a big treat for you to anticipate it's just cake.

Few Suggestions for each genre you seem to like:

Uncharted 2: great adventure game and short since you will lose sleep and never put it down until its beat

BioShock: Great fps game. Its the most unique storyline and environment that I have ever seen in a game, the sequel was okay if the first one gets you hooked

Red Dead Redemption: Great Sandbox game. The environment is amazing. The storyline is great with solid characters and tons of side quests to keep you busy.
