I'm working on a project that I'm trying to tie in an atmosphere of melancholy. I've got a silent video that I'm overlapping with melancholic music. I wanted to use Maybe the OST from Let The Right one In, specifically the song Oscar in Love.

It's 2:22 though...

Do you have a link to that? 2:22 is in the 2 minute range, and so far that fits. As long as it's melancholic and there's no vocals, it's a contender.

I recommend you check their respective soundtracks as well actually if you have time, there are several songs from the same games that are great and may be what you are looking for.
Also, I would recommend the NieR soundtrack, but unfortunately most of the songs have vocals, but it's on an invented language, so you may be able to use them.

Too bad you can only use 2-3 min songs, if not I would probably have added a dozen more.

You should definitley check out Johan Johannsson

A bit long for what you want but I'd really recommend taking the time to edit out a section, some of his stuff would probably suit your project very well, 3:20 might be worth noting

I would agree with you there, but that's been over-killed so hard in pseudo-emotionally deep videos. Ruined something great, to me at least.

I'd go for Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkle, it's 5 minutes but most of the time when a song is used in other media, they don't play from the beginning, and there's plenty of places to cut out. Also in that vein, Mad World by Gary Jules

I couldn't find any place to get this soundtrack or song. My usual methods of borrowing from youtube aren't working either. But otherwise this was one of the better suggestions in the thread.

This is a great pick. I'm putting it in the pile just because it is so melancholic but different from the other (working) suggestions.

I still don't know if I want to use this one. A great suggestion, and still my eyes flick back to it.

This one is technically five minutes long, but the music dips and peaks so much that it can easily be chopped up to fit your needs. You could literally cut it off at 2:30.

That might actually work, in a round about sort of way.
