Here's a few which are, essentially, royalty free from Newgrounds. There's some seriously talented people there.

[a href="http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/download/287884"]Click here to download "Sorrow" by FuNaNdMoRe[/a]

[a href=""]Click here to download "Wind's Lullaby" by Kevin C[/a]

Those are the best two I could find, but there are others on that site, it's just a matter of looking for them.

Requirments;
no vocals,
must be in the 2 minute range. (no editing)
Must have an air of melancholy.
Hmm. That "No vocals, even if they're in Latin and not particularly enunciated very well anyways so they essentially become just another instrument and not a distraction" thing you have going there makes this tricky. If you weren't so dead set against Latin, I would suggest Virgin Black's "Rest Eternal", which clocks in at 2:29, and is the closing track of an album entirely comprised of melancholy; which is fitting, since the title of that album is Requiem - Mezzo Forte. Requiems aren't generally known for being happy after all. It would also afford you the advantage of not being particularly well known piece of music to use.

[small]Heck, I might as well post it anyways, now that I'm thinking about it.[/small]

Here you go
Damn, that song is beautiful. I'll go with these, they're all quite nice, mainly off of soundtracks and things.

They're all pretty melancholy, clock in at approx two minutes and all but one have no vocals.

Dijurido does have vocals, but they're quite subtle and fit the mood incredibly well.

Hans Zimmerman always wins, people.

This one is technically five minutes long, but the music dips and peaks so much that it can easily be chopped up to fit your needs. You could literally cut it off at 2:30.

The Cure's Disintegration album has so many of these songs, with long instrumental intros that you should be able to edit to your needs.

I think most things from the soundtrack of the movie Moon would be suitably melancholy, though most of them are much longer than 2 minutes.

This track would work, I think. The last two minutes of it, from about 1:40 onwards could function pretty well.
