I don't know about what other people do, but I try to kill those with stupid usernames as often as possible in MW2. Just to get that small satisfaction of knowing that Í did my best to punish them for their idiocy.

Except for all the X's, the l33tsp34k and the unnecessarily 'grand' names (e.g EpicDragon, MegaSniper, etc.), I get annoyed at people who have things that refer to other games in their names.
I play on PSN, and there's a buttload of people who have names which contain things like "Helghan..." or "MW2..." in them. It just seems so mindlessly fanboy-ish to have that in your name.

I personally hate those names that are only button combinations. they cover so much of the screen and stand out out like a sore thumb. Plus they have absolutely no ingenuity or thought in them.

Because there was nothing else and he was desperate, my cousin was going to name his PSN online account "Suited Kiwi." It was PSN, so I didn't mind.

I tried to be somewhat creative in making my gamertag: Trikeen3D
Trikeen is a conjunction between 'Trilogy' and 'Commander Keen' and '3D' on the end is a reference to Duke Nukem 3D. Not great but i think it's pretty original.

Microsoft should go through all the original XBL tags and delete the no longer active ones... They're hogging all the names. Also, I think Crysis has a good system, and I think a few other games have this too - you have a username, which has to be unique, and then you have a display name, which can be whatever you want.

2 things.

1- anyone with 'snipeszz' or 'xXLEETSNIPZORZXx' or 'oO~qwikscopezz~FTW~Oo' are clearly overcompensating, and usually have no fucking skill. for instance, the people on CoD running around in a ghillie suit with those sort of names, who run up behind you and kill you WITH TWIN FUCKING MODELS are clearly not the elite snipers they think they are.

2-the fools who put their year of birth in their GT. Fair enough if your name is already taken and you're old/mature enough to be civil, but seriously, don't start mouthing off on xbox live and being all 'hardcore' when I can clearly see you're way too young to even buy this game, and that bedtime was 2 hours ago!

I don't hate all gamertags though, some are just plain awesome, like 1 guy ages ago called 'about 120 arabs'-my screen kept popping up with 'you killed about 120 arabs!', the genocyde in just 1 game was beyond belief
