I love the fact this guy's attacking everyone who posts on this thread, regardless of whether they agree with him or not. Just grow up.

at least im not alone in this ^_^ I mean i could see how people COULD like it but there's all this talk of it being a contender for GOTY. and a lot of reviews give it 9 out of 10. I feel that nostalgia has blinded the world.
Or just "ghost" it and not touch a single soul? That's what I did most of the time. I haven't knocked out a single person during all the time I've played it.Knobody13 said:Okay, from what i have played so far i am not very impressed.
For starters this game claims that you can "play it how you want." Well that couldn't be farther from the truth. This is a stealth game plain and simple; you just get to choose whether it is a game where u shoot people that know your around there somewhere, shoot people that have no idea your there, or u can choose to not kill people but instead put them into a magical coma with your non lethal pistol/tazer and tranq rifle.
Oh, you mean those nostalgia-tardsThe-Epicly-Named-Man said:Then your not a nostalgia-tardMarsProbe said:Not all of them! It wasn't a comment on nostalgia, it was a comment on people who judge games based on nostalgia, generally hating anything that deviates from a stagnating formula established 10 years ago. No offence was intended towards you.
What my name lol? I spelled it with a K so that i could use it as my handle without worry it was taken.CrazyBerk said:Okay I'm not a grammar nazi, and I completely agree with you.SolidBooty said:snip
But it's "nobody" not "knobody". I'm sorry, but that is just too weird. It literally made me shiver and I don't know why.
Abbreviations don't bother me, I think this forum is rubbing off on me. I need an extended holiday away from The Escapist, ironically.
whoah stop "attacking" this guy. Oh wait, you put "No offence was intended towards you." So, I guess that makes it ok. Well no offense intended toward you; but your both wrong and a hypocrite. All i have been doing is clarifying my opinion and commenting on what people say. I reserve the word attacking for when i insult their character. Like what I'm doing with you right now.The-Epicly-Named-Man said:Then your not a nostalgia-tardMarsProbe said:Not all of them! It's a hybrid. It's not meant to be as deep as an RPG, it's meant to bring some of that complexity to a shooter.Knobody13 said:Your argument rests solely on the shoulders of the False Dilemma logical fallacy. There are more than 2 choices of game in the world; so saying that one is better than another does not make it the best, great, or even good. Did i mention CoD anywhere in my post? If anything i was comparing this game to other RPG's. You are one hundred percent correct; if we are comparing this game to CoD then it wins hands down. Unfortunately the world is full of MANY good games that i don't think HR holds a candle to.SonOfVoorhees said:No freedom? Compared to what? People love FPS games where you are fighting along corridors, they love it. But a game that gives you more freedom of movement, they ***** because its not as much freedom as they thought? Ive played this game both full violence and full stealth, and the enjoyed both...although the stealth was more interesting. I just think people played it more like a FPS, got killed in seconds and labeled the game shit as a result. Even with full augs you cant taken more than 5 bullets before your dead. You take your time, experiment, explore and gain money and xp for stuff. You get out of it what you put into it. If you rush through it, read none of the emails/newspapers and ebooks and play it like a FPS then yes, the game will suck. Could just mean this isnt the game for you and you should look else where. Same as me with the COD games, i find them boring and simplistic shooters with zero freedom. But i wouldnt write a thread about it.
Although the only negative thing i hated in the game was the bosses. You couldnt stealth them and do a takedown on them, which sucked when you played the game stealthy.
Hopefully their will be more games like this than COD. Although i will be happy if COD had massive multi tier levels in a city you had to make your way through, and you had the freedom of choice to take multi different routes. Level structure hasnt changed since Doom.....i always thought by the time computers were super powerful and we get open world games like GTA and Oblivion, that FPS war games would end up that way. Fingers crossed they will (not set in a forest area but full huge destroyed cities, like the fightening in WW2.)

Edit; Also, how exactly am I a hypocrite? I didn't pick up on it on my first read through your post, but that doesn't make any sense. Oh, and yes, the twat comment was an attack at you. Because you're a twat.

IT!
IS SPELT!
"YOU"!
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
YOU. NOT U. YES? YOU KNOW WHAT WE WANT YOU DO? THANK YOU.
It is impossible for me to take you seriously (read: not get really bloody pissed off) when you do that. Okay?
I didn't report you. I believe in freedom of speech no matter how moronic or offensive someone is. Stealth requires a heavy investment in praxis points. You need to go up the stealth tree, you need to grab silent movement augs, you need hacking augs (for cameras and bots), and you realistically need to dip at least a little into cloaking.Greni said:When I first saw the "Ghost" xp bonus I was all "the hell?" so it really is just a stealth game in disguise.
Is this Detroit you're talking about? There's another way around.Greni said:I'd also like to ***** about the way the world map is constructed. To get from one end of the street to the other you have to go through air-vents? Really?!
