...and I'm proud of it. Just made this thread for anyone else who still plays Pokemon and wants to nerdgasm about anything related to it. I'll kick this thread off by saying my favorite pokemon ever is Gallade from the 4th generation. Great for competitive play. Also, does anyone have any opinions on the new Black and White games coming out next year? I think that they look really stupid to be honest. The new pokemon look like they were all made in a single day by a class of kindergardeners. This might just be early speculation based on videos I've seen, but this is my opinion. Anyone disagree? Agree?
*claps* congrats, you've turned into those people who say "there's only a 151 pokemon" or "there arent any pokemon after gold."

Personally, I enjoy every new pokemon design, cause each looks interest at least. Though I just dont like there wasnt an evil evolution. You could have made a dragon type with dragon fang/scale. Or added another stationary rock for... I dont know... a fighting type maybe. in the middle of a dojo that you have to fight to get it. And then some old guy gives you an eevee to which you decide if you want to evolve it (yeah, I know the idea sucks, but oh well). Oh! Or a trade for a steel type using metal coat.

But yeah, I like the new games so far (havent played them yet), because it just looks cool with all the new mechanics. and th dream world ability.

I think Black and White will suffer from a case of MW2 Syndrome. It's going to try to do too much to improve gameplay, and in the process, it's going to kill itself with complexity. I could be wrong though. This is based purely on what I've seen as far as competitive and single player go. From the opinions of people I see online, they say its awesome. I guess I'll just wait and see though.

Well I'm not saying that. I'm just basing this opinion on videos I've seen. Just something about the new ones looks awkward to me for some reason. The new mechanics as far as battling goes actually look quite cool though. The facelift for the in battle animation system was much needed. But just to me the new pokemon I've seen look kind of rushed.

Voltorb, Diglett, Ledyba, Chikorita. Those are just a few that the devs spent 5 minutes on and gave up. And yet people like you still think they're better than the new Pokemon, who actually had effort put into them.

Yeah. The new Pokemon were definitely 'Rushed'.

Played the first gen then stopped. Only last year picked it back up again and played the third gen. I'm also planning to get Black/White when it comes out. So I will only have played the odd numbered gens...

Have you heard this song by any chance?
You know, I was just about to post that.

As for myself, I'm still playing my old Silver version on my purple GameBoy Color. Had to swap out the battery in the game recently 'cos it deleted my save, so I'm rebuilding.

Anybody wanna trade? :3

I don't know what it is about them. I'm actually going to go watch a few Black/White videos to see what it is exactly.

I think a lot of people are, you just don't see it that often.

For Christmas, I bought my friend Pokemon Yellow for the Gameboy Colour. Man, it was $25 but it was insane to see it there. I even saw an original Pokemon Gold unopened for $100. The price is a bit ridiculous but it was still in its original package, plastic and everything.

The new pokemon are just awful. I like my original 150.

[sub](Not original 150, but still neat.)[/sub]

EDIT: Plus Celebi. That thing is just so damn cute.

I still play Pokemon, and I have to say Generation 4 is my favorite, and Soul Silver is the best Pokemon game out there in my opinion. I am also playing through Platinum again. From what I have heard from my 2 friends who already have played it Pokemon Black and White are awesome. One of them even said they are the best Pokemon games out there. I am definitely getting Snivy as my Starter.
My team in Platinum is Grotle, Mismagius, Kirlia, Absol, Flareon, and I'm trying to decide between Mawile and Buizel.
In Soul Silver my team is Feraligatr, Glaceon, Furret, Lugia, Murkrow, and Ninetales.

oh i play it all the time. in my phys-calc based II class i sit there on my laptop playing it all the time, i play it with my left hand then take occasional notes with my right hand, the games are awesome amounts of fun with lots of re playability
That post instantly made me think of this:
Yeah I still play it and I pretty much already have my squad for white set out. I won't deny a lot of them seem dumb but it doesn't really matter if you're gonna wipe them out in a second anyway
hahaha wow. never seen that before but thats awesome. and basically what i do but i concentrate more on the "chip" part of it

Man, I love pokemon so much. I'm 19, turning 20 soon, and I don't care at all what people think. Whenever a new game comes out, me and my mates get together and have marathons. We play our game together all day, and after every gym we battle each other. I've spent over 800 hours on my Silver version, and have all 251. I cherish that game. Regarding Black and White, some of those Pokemon look quite sad. I mean, a candle? A chandelier? An ice-cream cone Pokemon? Really? Nevertheless, I'll still get it n_n

Anyone seen the youtube vid called "Black man loves Pokemon"? That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread. I want to post it, but not sure it's allowed. It's got some obscene language...

Very amusing though, and full of great quotes ^.^

I still play and love the series and I'm 21, I don't care. Heart Gold was awesome. :3

But from what I've seen of the B&W 'mon they do look a bit, well, shit. :/
Yeah, they do kinda look silly, but I'll learn to love them.

Oshawott ftw!
I can't stand his first stage but his final stage is pretty cool imo, I'm gonna go with him just for that.

That and to avoid the quite frankly abysmal name choice that is "Tepig"... -.-

Well on a not Black/White topic just o mix things up a little bit my main team is:
Ninjask (Starter)
Genger (Special Sweeper)
Celebi (Cleric)
Skarmory (Physical Wall)
Gallade (Physical Sweeper)
Umbreon (Mixed Wall/Stall Wall)

I don't play competitively, but I play with the mindset of someone who does, so I rock the EV trained pokemon etc.

Pokemon is awesome. Can't stand the anime, but the games rock to hell and back. So...my favorite pokemon is Gardevoir <3 and I'm very excited about Black and White. I've heard they're trying to mix things up a little, and while I'm reluctant to believe that, the protagonists ARE going to be teenagers this time, the new villains strike pretty close to real-world politics (expys of P.E.T.A., it seems), so thats good, and from the intro with that guy getting crowned I take it that the story has some deep connections in the regions history. These are not the fundamental changes we are all (or most) willing to try, but they are steps in the right direction. The pokemon designs, however, have become much too obscure and baroque, I think. I cannot tell what half of them are meant to be, and the other half I do not like their design. I'll catch 'em all anyway, and I am not so cynical to believe there are no really cool ones in there. I felt much the same going into 3rd, and I got freakin' gardevoir out of that deal.
