It's because that in the original trilogy, the Force was built up as a magical, mysterious source of power and not something gained by a symbiotic exchange from blood parasites.

If the Force was set up as something gained by a symbiotic exchange from blood parasites, then people would be fine with Midi-chlorians.

EDIT: I don't give a flying fuck that I'm apparently '10 years late' or so.

10 years ago I was 5. And 5 years ago, I was 10. So I didn't fucking care at the time, nor was I into computers as I am now.

Welp, that only makes you about... 10 years behind? Yea, I think so... There's a comic about this very thing somewhere.

I don't hate Medichlorians.

I hate George Lucas.

Really, deeply analyzing why I love SW I realized it could be summed up in one word, and had it not been for this word, I would've passed it off as being another run of the mill Sci-Fi-verse.

Lightsabres.

See, I think the Force can still be that mysterious, magical source of power.

The midichlorians aren't the Force, they just explain why some people can tap into it and others can't. More midichlorians, higher Force-sensitivity.

Also, a random theory I have: midichlorian count increases when passed from a parent to a child. Think about it, what do Kyle Katarn, Galen Marek, and Luke Skywalker all have in common? They're all insanely powerful, and they all had JEDI PARENTS. (I haven't gotten that far in the book series yet, but I'm lead to believe that the Solo kids aren't exactly weaklings, either.)

Well, did you know that 10 years ago I was only 5? So... Yeah. Don't really give a shit.

Nah, it's still going on and it sucks.
You seems quite defensive... 10 years ago I was about 7 but do you hear me complaining about my lost out on the opportunity to discover something when it was 'hot' and 'new?'

Or Midichlorians could be like Force-enhancers. Like, you don't NEED them to tap into the force but they help a lot.

I'm defensive because people keep pointing things out that I wasn't around for or don't really care about.

And the last part about you 'my lost out on the opportunity to discover something when it was 'hot' and 'new?'... I don't understand what you mean.

First off:
O RLY?

And you must have heard it somewhere, even if you're only 15 years old. I mean, it's all over the internet that midi-chlorians are hated because it ruined the magic behind the Force.

Sir you have a thread about something people are aware of already. There's threads about this. There are videos about this (redlettermedia). You didn't even make this into a disussion. Very poor work on your part. I also don't like your responses it lacks tact and respect.

No I didn't, I came up with it myself. I MAY have heard it before, but to be honest back then I didn't care about Star Wars. Why now? Just wanting to see if other people agree about the idea I had.

People keep pointing it out because it's already been discovered and it's so old that nobody cares anymore.

What I mean about it being 'hot' and 'new' is just that; so many years ago it was a new topic and something that people hadn't heard before, and so revealing this discovery to those who hadn't known it was 'hot' and 'new.'

Now, everyone knows it and nobody cares about your revelation as it's already been discovered by just about everyone.
