I would never get my tongue pierced. It's not because it's painful or anything; it's just disgusting.

It might not have been the nicest possible way to say the message that most people on this forum have been trying to make, but it is an irreversible action; you probably will regret it for the rest of your life. Please try to tell me a very good reason for why you would do such a thing, because currently we haven't got a list of pros. It is undo able, you'll have some difficulty talking and it is incredibly risky, I can't possibly recommend it. If you've apparently been researching this for 4 years, you've taken too long.

You've spent more than enough time (apparently) and need an entire 5 pages worth of forum to make a decision. I strongly recommend against this; even if it was the most aesthetic thing in the world, the health risks and irreversible damages can't possibly be worth it in my eyes, but your body, your choice, but it will be your regrets if you come to hate the life you have deliberately chosen for yourself.

Yes it hurts like hell But not for that long, sore after for few weeks and you need to clean yeah mouth out all the time till it heals. There is a good chance of it getting infected aswell. you carnt eat all that well for a few weeks and even then you need to be careful what you do eat. I just drank these meal in glass things with a straw. Noone sees it when you talk some new friends hadnt noticed till i showed them after knowing for years.

Its good you been thinking about it for 4 yrs My sister works in the trade and sees people all the time getting tats and that on a whim.

Girls love it and are very curious about it, as are some boys.

If you do decide to get it done it should go without saying make sure you go to a well established place, and talk to the person doing it about it and make sure they do aftercare.
They will shine a light though your tounge to see if you can have it with the blood vessels and all. Also it may be worth seeign your doctor before hand tell them what you plan on doign they will advise you not to but will not force you not to get it and may give you some antibiotics just incase

Oh and it is reversible, it just involves cutting the layer of healed skin off that grew over the two halves of the tongue and letting it heal naturally back together again, a process that is agreed upon hurts a hell of a lot more then actually splitting your tongue.

On a serious note: getting a job is not impossible, even if most employers would be put off by it but there are thousands of jobs where your face doesn't matter, ever wonder what the guy on the other end of your helpline looks like? Also if you worked in the body modification industry it would do you no harm.

Go for it if you want it, but I have no idea where you could get that done professionally. I'm not sure if any reputable tattoo or piercing place is going to be able to do that since it practically sounds like surgery.

Maybe just look around the internet for a body modification group and get some advice there. Also, if your going to try the tongue why not get the penis split as well? I've seen it, it's possible and apparently when it heals up sex becomes ten times better (it's sensitive inside and out). You may need a few piercings to hold it together and will have to sit and pee for a long time but talk about bad ass!

I love body modification, it really appeals visually (I'm just too big a sissy to go beyond tattoo's).

Well, if you never want to be taken seriously in the professional world and realise that it will seriously lower you chances of being employed (again, if you already are) then yeah go for it.
I personally would never do it, it's not my style anyway but I also figure at some point I will want to look somewhat respectable.

Alrighty well i have been looking at this for about 4 years now, just so i dont make a dissension that i will regret in life lol but I really want my tounge split. So i was wondering if anyone here has it done or knows of a person who does it PROFESSIONALLY...not just some guy in his basement

I don't mean this in a cruel way I'm just telling you how it comes off.

If you have a split tongue then you will never be taken seriously and you can say goodbye to any corporate jobs. You will also disgust most people and freak lots of girls out. There is no way to revert this and it is a HUGE thing. Get a tattoo instead because at least you can hide it if you must. You will find it hard to talk and it will hurt like fuck. You tongue will be weakened and you taste will be offset.

However, if you dont care about any of this then go ahead. There are some people who find it cool and if you are a rocker it might be interesting for an image. Otherwise, don't do it. IMO its gross and horrible.

EDIT: ok, I reread this and it comes off hostile. I don't mean it that way, this stuff just really disturbs me as it does other people, you really need to think this through.
