Some dumbass reposts a video on YouTube with inverted colours, and you think a real life courtroom would bother trying to charge him for it? I highly doubt it. His videos will get taken down, and he'll probably just make a new accont. La-de-dah.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is obviously a cockhead. It's just the whole "OMG IM ANGRY AND CALLING MY LAWYER" approach is exactly what he's aiming for.
Well, I suppose it could be defined as copyright infringement, plagiarism, whatever. It's still illegal, and maybe YouTube protects users from things like this by just shutting down their channels. But then again, maybe the guy would have to actually make money in order for courts and legal action to be involved.

Just so everyone who hasn't seen it yet knows; this is an almost identical cut, and paste of one of Yahtzee's videos. He only changed the colour scheme, and added a slight echo, then removed the end credits.

I disliked the video, then reported the video as inappropriate on Youtube, but it turns out you can't finish the report that it ripped off someone (copyright/trademark/ect), unless you are 'the' person/organisation being ripped off, so since I'm not Yahtzee or the Escapist, I couldn't finish lodging my complaint.
Flag it for Theft/Fruad.
Because he stole Yatzhee's videos (Theft) and claimed them as his own (fruad)

God, looking through this guy's channel he's stolen 9 video's from The Escapist (and by extension Yahtzee) and some have been up for 3 month's. Either YouTube/Escapist hasn't noticed or YouTube just doesn't give a shit

An actual 'rip-off' would probably just amount to a kid mimicking the art-style, recycling jokes, and stumbling over his words trying to talk fast.

It's pretty ridiculously obvious that this person just wants to get a negative reaction out of people for the hell of it.

It's funny how in like a few weeks/months someone new here is gonna post on how Yahtzee stole from this kid and should be fired from The Escapist or something xD.

I sent a private message to the YouTube (as in user/YouTube) channel. I know it's probably not the right approach, but that's better than letting it pass.

All subscribers and friends care about is quantity. They're too naive to lift their nose out of this guy's asshole to notice there's better sites to watch videos than YouTube. I think it's safe to say that 90% of people with lower than 1,000 subscribers only have shit for videos.

Then again, half of people with higher than that still have shit for videos...

I'm getting off-topic. This kid will burn in hell with most of the corporate lawyers, so let's just keep talking here while everything else falls into place around us.

Sent Russ Pitts a message about it. If that doesn't get it dealt with, I'd be amazed.

If yahtzee every heard about it I'm sure he'd be more likely to just laugh at the sad person than get angry.

*sigh* Can someone get a picture to help me describe the sheer amount of anger and outright shame I'm feeling for so much as glancing at this idiots video?

I think these "MY FEELINGS ON" videos would make a an excellent addition to the Escapist's roster of video series.

I remember a time when I would have done stuff like this *sigh*

Curse you 12 year old self, so confident at drawing yet to lazy to do any thing original with it.

Has anyone just ported his videos and asked for permission promoting it on youtube(not in that order)?
It would give the person channel views and promote them...

So, Escapist, you gonna sue this poor fool?
There is no legal ground to sue. He isn't making any money on it. They can ask Youtube to take it down, however.

(METAPHOR INBOUND: PREPARE FOR DETACHED THOUGHTS!)

If everything was that easy, the creators wouldn't need their own channel. Unfortunately, people on the internet are naturally arrogant and feel like raising their e-peen a little by claiming they made such masterpieces as "MY FFEELINGS" (sic). Posting previews of the video (i.e., X-Play putting a chunk of ZP on their show) works. Wholesale copy and paste will not.

If The Escapist wanted to be on YouTube, it would make a channel on YouTube and post their videos or trailers for such videos. If they offered everything on YouTube, they wouldn't need their own video galleries. There's a specific reason why Yahtzee doesn't post ZP on YouTube (hint: message in a bottle in a sea of messages in bottles). Relying on a nobody-by-comparison will do nothing for The Escapist, because the only use they'll find for YouTube is to find original content ideas they like and taking them OUT OF YOUTUBE for cash.

Of course, my smarter-than-thou attitude won't get far in this discussion so I'm going to stop here.

Promotion anywhere would help though and they do have their own channel, they hardly use it or update it.
Zero Punctuation: Halo 3 Review on The Escapist has nearly 400,000 views that isn't to bad.
I found this place through youtube quite a few months ago.
For me it is that easy and if the creators said no I wouldn't do it, so I wouldn't just apply this to everyone. Though like you said "Of course, my smarter-than-thou attitude won't get far in this discussion so I'm going to stop here."
Oh and his own channel with a view vids.

I flagged it as promoting terrorism cause I couldn't think of anything better to flag it as, although if there had been a rape option I would have used that XD.
