Are you willing to take the job? Why or why not?

(This is purely hypothetical, I'm just curious as to how many people would actually take money over lives of their fellow men/women)

Interesting replies so far...

But how about this

You will be paid $125,000 dollars a year (without taxes and all that fun stuff that would bring it down to probably about 100,000), would you still do it?
I really dislike children, and working for a living. So I would like to think I could take it. But...I'm pretty sure my stupid conscience would get in the way. I despise my undying need to be decent.

Off Topic: Drink in the new avatar. The red/white/black combination really stands out. Sporky111 does good work.

Hmm... that's a lot of money but everyone would hate me so not really sure it's worth it. I know shitloads of people smoke regardless so although I don't agree with promoting smoking, if I don't do it then someone else is and I don't get any money that way. Really in two minds about this one (yes, I am abastard).

Pffft everyone is politically correct simply because it's so explicit.

Look at it like this, one in every 10 million kid would be psychotic enough to copy a scene from a video game and shoot up a local school.

At least 1 in 50 will be inspired to drive there car real fast after watching fast and the furious or top gear. 1 in 20 of those are going to kill them self and maybe someone else.

Yet we know the dangers of smoking, but these don't seem so overt so they're okay. What we don't know doesn't hurt us apparently.

It seems you moral code is limited by how much you actually know.

I wouldn't work in any industry that so directly led to the deaths of such a large number of people, no matter the salary. If hypothetically my own family were in financial strife and I desperately needed the money that this job would give me, I would still probably have to refuse on the same grounds. Making money off, essentially, someone's addiction to a toxic substance is not the way I want to conduct myself in this life. In my mind there's no difference between cigarette executives and drug dealers on street corners except one gets to go home to a gigantic mansion in Beverly hills and the other gets to go back to the projects. Interesting hypothetical question though.

For 2 millionl, hell yes.
For 125k no taxes, no thanks. It's just not quite good enough for the enjoyment/money ratio.
Plus, I don't think most girls would appreciate someone doing that line of work. At least they won't appreciate it for only 125k a year :p

If kids managed to buy that much cigarettes to make them sick and die, humanity is doomed anyways because of bad parenting skills.

Sure. Not my fault if the kid falls for the advertising. Not like 1/10 wouldn't do it and die anyway.

So yes.

But not to 100,000 a year.

FUCK THAT.

Hell, even if it was $80,000 a year I would still do it. Most people are scum anyway, who cares if a few people die, we're all going to die at some point anyway. At least I can have money for doing practically fuck all.

$2 million... definately. I find that certain acts are completely explainible if you tell people how much you're paid.

$125,000? In this economy, sure... a job's a job.
