I loved that game so much, but I'd really want to see a remake of the Battlezone series with better physics, more infantry focus, and no more health bars i.e. proper armour penetration
I'd like to see a 3D remake of Sonic 2 in the same style as Sonic Adventure.
Oh Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake (the old 2D MSX games). They were a vital chapter in the storyline of the Metal Gear timeline and replaying those would be epic. Just as long as they don't remake the NES versions, they sucked.
Oh Ristar!! That deserves either a remake or a sequel majorly!
Rollcage as well. That could do with a HD release. Maybe fix the controls a bit...
There was this freaking awesome game i had on my amstrad, you were like a wizard and ya had to run around collecting reagents for spells to kill some other mage who is doing the same. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called.... .
They already made a "new" Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. It's called Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion...
Anyways, on topic: I'd love to see the Gameboy Mega Man series, particularly the 100% original MegaMan V. I through IV were basic rehashes of 1 through 5, but MegaMan V was awesome.
...where Dr Wily is NOT the final boss!
I'm sure someone has already said it, but Kid Icarus could use a remix, if they do it right. Metroid showed the formula can be updated and 3D-ized, and Kid Icarus could potentially revive an awesome adventure game/series.
Again, without having read the entire thread, I'm sure someone has mentioned the Earthbound/Mother series. I've never heard of such an iconic RPG that they're so adamant NEVER come to the US! (I mean come on, they brought over Sin and Punishment, finally, even if it was just on the WiiVC)

Commander Keen. I can't be the only one who remembers the preteen uber-genius defender of the galaxy? right?
(on an unrelated note, how the heck do I make an umlaut?)
Commander Keen was awesome, but they're right. A remake probably would end up just cloning Ratchet and Clank... sad but true. And no, I have no idea how to make an umlaut here... the usual key combinations don't work.
Yeah that was a fun game, especially with the ability to become a werewolf, but just please make it easier to find things on the map. I would always end up getting lost
Whats wrong with you peoples! Remakes usually end up bad because theres an inpudent spunge sitting on the writers desk, influencing his mind and worsening the script and story! Who wants that! Go back and play the old game if you like it so much, why remake anything?
...
Final Fantasy 7... never gonna happen though /cry.
Silent Hill Shattered Memories is a prime example of remakes missing the point of the original. I would have loved a decent remake of the first game but I doubt anyone is ever going to recapture the magic that Team Silent created. Silent Hill is one of my favourite gaming series but I have to say it's probably best left alone. I'd rather not have any more crappy installments to what is an excellent gaming series.
