hahahaha snap!Angerwing said:Except Megan Fox wasn't even a nominee. She went up against Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep. You know, GOOD ACTRESSES.Zeithri said:Why?Onyx Oblivion said:http://www.oscars.org/awards/academyawards/82/nominees.html
Sandra Bullock won...Best Actress.
The rest I'm okay with. But...Sandra Bullock. Ugh.
Also, I thought Inglorious Basterds should have won for "Writing (Original Screenplay)" over "The Hurt Locker" for that one category.
Because she isn't that s*ut Megan Fox but infact, ACTUALLY A GOOD ACTOR?
It's not a remake.JEBWrench said:Was Basterds even nominated for that? How can a remake get a nod for "Original Screenplay"?
okay, I agree perfomances were weak this year but she didn't beat those performances because she was black, she beat them because she was better than them. In another year she probably wouldn't have won, but then neither would Bullock.Hopeless Bastard said:Having a fat, stupid (as evidenced by her acceptance speech) angry black woman playing a fat stupid angry black woman isn't exactly challenging.
I do like how at the end there, you pretty much just repeated what I've been saying. Female performances last year were extremely weak. Her competition was Penelope fucking cruz! It was the easiest affirmative action award they've ever had to give.
Of course, its better than giving another award the patron saint of winning multiple oscars for playing the same fucking character, denzel washington.
I remember thinking when I saw IB on release weekend that Waltz would get nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Turns out I predicted correctly.Alex The Rat said:On a more serious note, I'm thrilled to see Christoph Waltz win best supporting. He was easily my favorite part of that movie, which is saying tons considering how much I enjoyed some of the other aspects![]()
i think that Inglorious didnt get best writing as it was a remake of a film (a pretty good remake if you ask me)and remakes genrally get low scores.....its stupid theese days its based on audiance reception rather than actuall talent....hence why twighlight was nearky nominatedOnyx Oblivion said:http://www.oscars.org/awards/academyawards/82/nominees.html

Dude, it has a similar name to a film made in the 70s, it is not based on it even a little bit (unless you count the fact that they're both world war two films).LimaBravo said:So you thought the remake of a film made in the 70's shoulda won Writing for Original Screenplay ?
Really? I could have sworn that nobody talked about this before. Come on, now. It's even in the fucking name of the thread.Onyx Oblivion said:http://www.oscars.org/awards/academyawards/82/nominees.html
