I'd probably be a traveling merchant. As it's the most realistic. A traveler at least.

I'd be a general handyman/small-time inventor/mechanic at some small settlement, making sure power is beign produced and water purified and recycled, and fixing things in the settlement. Nothing glorious, but important nonetheless.

Assuming a Deathclaw doesn't get me that is. Or die at the original exchange. Or from starvation etc.
