If our faith in humanity is lost, why don't we just blow our brains out right now?

Because we like to live? Faith in humanity and the will to live are two completely different things.

Humanity is very destructive, so not having faith in it is understandable. But wanting to keep alive is an instinct. Therefore, even though someone lacks faith in humanity, they will want to stay alive.
Yeah this post ends the thread really your topic lacks basic knowledge. I am one of the people who say that my faith in humanity is gone just because mostly everyone else is stupid and makes me lose my faith in the human race doesn't mean I am just gonna kill myself that's fucking stupid dude!

Because losing faith in humanity doesn't imply a loss of hope. Almost every one of those people are still looking for something to believe in.

You're free to lose faith in humanity's kindness and be sad about it, just make sure you don't take anyone with you...

If you take your life , wouldn't there be at least one person who'd be sad for you? Even Bin Laden has his fanatics. Even Hitler had the Goebbels. Yahtzee has us. That's enough to keep the people who truly suffered the world's harshest possibilities and not the edgy ones to keep on living. Feel free to be a misanthrope for real or for kicks, just don't make your parents sad...

It's like most people have said here, we may not have faith in humanity, but it doesn't mean we should just give up like that. Besides, that's the faith I don't have in humanity. The fact that people have no respect for life and would rather kill themselves or others. It really makes you wonder about the whole "most intelligent species" kinda thing if a lot of people can't see that killing ourselves or each other is pretty stupid. Where's the intelligence?

I rather enjoy my life. Knowing humanity fails at it a lot of the time doesn't really compel me to die. It rather compels me to want the people that make me lose faith in humanity to die instead.

The question I ask is, if Humanity is complete and utter shit, why don't we "pull the plug". if not on other, faith destroying people, then at least on ourselves?
What's the alternative again?

It's usually best to actually attempt to fix the problem than to just get out of there.

Well... my answer is curiosity. I really want to see where this is going in my lifetime.
This

I'm hoping that my faith will be restored at some point, but with the general whiny childish attitude by the worlds governments regarding global warming and other important issues. I'm not holding my breath.
