I will deglamourise video games and the internet, making more recreational activities seem like da bomb.

And give them lots of transformers.

I'll certainly let my kid play video games. It's hard telling what kind of games and game systems there are by the time any kid I have is old enough to play. They could be holograms you control with your mind by then. If I still have my old GameBoy Advance, Game Cube, NES, SNES and Atari systems, I'll probably let him start out on them first before letting him play with any of the less durable systems.

Whatever it is, I'll play lots of game against him and with him (co-op mode). Some of my fondest memories of my parents and grandparents are the times they played games with me (board games, ball games etc)so I'll certainly find ways to play games with my kid too.

I'd hesitate because even though I had a lot of fun, it was meaningless fun. If they are anything like me, hopefully otherwise there will be questions, I don't see how I could make them not like video games short of brainwashing.

I would not introduce my child to gaming. I am one of the few who are willing to admit my gaming got me where I am today, a bad place, lets leave it at that.

However I would cheer if they picked it up on their own, mostly because it is a brilliant way to spend time :)

I might introduce them to it, but I won't force them into it if they don't like gaming. Either way is cool with me.

Well first off. I am morally against having children.
Secondly as I am sure as hell not going to stop gaming the kid will no doubt grow up seeing daddy on it 24/7 so will become interested in it as the only way to be part of my life and thus earn daddys love.
I'm wondering, what do you mean by morally against having children? I'm not going to flame you or anything, just curious I guess.

I'm not going to get kids. But my sisters have kids and most of them are interested in my video games. I think they're still too young to play, not to mention they're too young for me to tolerate for more than ten minutes, but I might teach them the ways of video games. One of my sisters has an X-Box, but the kids' games she has for the console are horrible, I kind of feel for her kid. But not enough to let him touch or breathe at my consoles until he's at least seven years old.

Of course, if they're interested obviously. My siblings and I used to sit on our mom's lap and watch her play the original Mario brothers all the time when we were younger, and now we're avid gamers.

I'd introduce them to it, but not actually force them to like it if they don't.

Now, we seem to be forgetting here, I fucking hate majority of children, the odds are this scenario will never happen...

Well lets face it. Most parents should never be parents. These people are unable to raise children yet still think their bastard spawn is somehow special and more mature than all the others, hence the "My timmy is mature enough to play GTA" then 6 weeks later when he kills someone... you get the idea.

Then we get into eugenics but I am sure you do not want to hear my thoughts on that.

Now onto the actual children. They are loud, they're annoying, they have no real worth, are unable to do anything and the few things we can use them for are frowned upon by society. They are just parasites.
[/rant]

Anyway if I have to give a non hate filled answer it is simply because the world is too damn crowded as it is. Each family should be allowed one child, if that kid dies then they have proven they are not responsible and thus should not be allowed any more. Each child is just putting more and more strain on the planet and our limited resources. So anyone who dares give you crap about saving the environment with 3 kids hanging around their ankles is a hypocrite.

Summary: We should be focusing on pumping out less of the little bastards and just taking better care of the ones that exist already.
Hm. Okay.

I'd let them decide, if they want to play then I' let them play if not then I'd play by myself. I have to admit though, it would be kind of awesome to play together with your child and help them out.

I would however like some people above me said look into what games they wanted to buy, I would never let a 6 year old child play GTA for example.

If my child isnt broken they will automoticly latch themselved to the nearest console once there motor skill are up to scratch and begin playing!
My dad won a sega mega drive when they came out (£300 for a sega, yeh, try that now!)
I was 4, by the age of 5 i could complete sonic in about an hour and a bit, then for my 5th birthday i got a nes with super mario 3 and ive never looked back, ive owned every console since in both terms of the word 'owned'.
Do i wish this life upon my child? Only if he/she wants to be 'that guy' who comes round your house after youve had a game about a week and think yor getting kinda good only to find he picks it up with no experience of the game and whoops your ass...hard, then yeh, i want them to play games :-D

Sweet. I would love to work for them. What that has to do with kids is beyond me but who cares. I get to hurt people can call it "love" I will be just like a commissar!
Righteous!
