If you could choose 1 game to be wiped from history forever... What would it be?

I would love to wipe out Counter Strike, without it the world would be a much better place not filled with cocky 12 year olds who think they are the shit online with their retarded grammar and messed up names.
There's still Halo.
I'd wipeout StarCraft.

Shin, there was a sequel: Chrono Cross. Sure it wasn't about Chrono any more, but the worlds tied into each other (after all, Schala's still there). Shame I can't find the slightest connection between the games and Chrno Crusade (aside from the name).

As for people hating a game because it spawned bad clones, that is the worst argument ever. No more internets for you. Go outside, breath real air, come back when you've realised just how retarded that is.

Let me use Halo as an example here (but it's far from the only one). Do you know where the FPS (sorry, "Doom-clone") market was headed before Halo came out? Do you remember? Quake 3 clones. Multiplayer arena games. That was it. Fuck the story, fuck the characters, for a while it was all headed down the same path as Hired Team (which actually managed to get released slightly after Halo). Now there's a game that should never have been released.

Money-grubbing companies chasing a "safe bet" are always going to copy what's popular, that's just the way it goes. Punishing the ones who actually do something different is a sure-fire way to assure that companies like EA just keep churning out the same crap every year. It's not just for games, either - look at Transmorphers and fake Rolex watches.

EDIT: Shit, forgot to put an acknowledgement that Halo was seriously over-hyped. It was.

I'd say Halo but apparently that's been done to death, so if nothing else I'd say the True Crime series along with Final Fantasy X-2.

Without those games, I'd have an extra £90 in my pocket...

World of Warcraft for me. It turned mmorpg's in to a real game, and not just some dribble for ultra geeks. It also made Blizzard slow down with the developing of real games.

Everything ever except for Final Fantasy 7, then maybe id finish the damn game and see absolutely everything there is to see and max out everything instead of getting to disc 2 then getting distracted by something else. Then i could finally lay the game to rest, not that i ever want to, mind.

The only game I want to wipe out is one no one cares about. It's called Big Rigs, and it's worse than that Atari ET game. No really. It is.

The LoZ games on the CDi.

I don't need a reason to wipe those things off the face of the earth do I?
No, not the nonexistence, IT BUUURRRNSSS!

Bomberman for 360.

Edit: As much fun as targeting someone on the forum is for defending or just disagreeing with you, let's try to keep things friendly. Personally, I know that as a TC, I hate it when a flame war starts. Long quoted arguments make me wish I could shut down the damn thread. And in my experience, I find that speaking in absolutes when the content is very opinionated (X343) is a great way to sound like an idiot.

Please, please wipe out shit that immitates the battlefield games and diablo. Except for wolfenstein and (perhaps titan quest?). What i mean by this is quake wars was a horrible peace of shit, so was FOW and games like Loki (if you've heard of it) need to be wiped from existence. In doing so the world will be a better place, slightly purified and EVERYONE will hopefully be getting their money's worth! Oh yeah and games with false hype, thats the only real reason i see the review, or try to obtain a demo of a game before i buy it so i know it wont be a total shitefest.

All the Counter strike games, because they want to be real. I find games that tend to be real and fail quiet frustrating cause then I tell myself "hm a game that is saying it wants to be a real boy? I'v got to try it!" And when it turns out that it isn't real i get disappointed and lose the fun of the game (that is just how sick I am)

I didn't like Matrix online either, in honor to the movies that game should be erased

All the hate for Halo seems to come from the mass of bad games it has inspired. The first Halo was actually different and deserved its praise. The second and third ones, however, were not as good, didn't change much of anything, and showed the industry that the formula sells. The series would have been much better if they lost Halo 2 entirely and just split the story between two games.

There have been more successful games, but Halo essentially made the X-Box a legitimate console, which gave people the message that this is the formula to copy. If Halo had not been a launch title, it probably would have gotten much less press because everyone would have been playing the PS2 and GameCube.

Actually, SSB:Melee was one of the best selling Nintendo games for about four and a half years, but got less press because of whatever. Nobody copied that formula because fighting games were out of style.

This is getting long, so I am going to agree with the guy who said Candyland.

I'm a little split between Halo, Battlefield 2, and WoW. I'll pick the last of those, because it has actually killed people before. Amazingly enough, there are still people who claim it's not "addictive", just a "good game".

......................Devil May CRY4 or FFX-2
DMC series is awesome, DMC 4 was the easiest one but fun to play.

My take will go with any WW2 series (minus CoD, CoD:UO, CoD2) and Halo.
I agree the DMC series is awesome. Hell, I'm trying to get my hands on the 4th and third but the second sucks.
This is what you meant. Even if you didn't know it, this is what you meant. Do not bother to deny it, it's the truth.

The game I would choose to be erased from history is Devil May Cry 2... wait, Capcom already erased it. Then, Sonic the Hedgehog for 360/PS3... wait, the game itself erased it. Okay then, it's a tie between the Hannah Montana and High School Musical games for the Wii. (They were actually made... seriously.)

Oh, and World of Warcraft is telling me that it doesn't control people's lives and you should all just forget that you ever thought that and return to blissful ignorance.

Either Silent Hill, or Ico.
Silent Hill: If those games didn't exist, maybe I wouldn't need to hold a broom everytime I go downstairs.
Ico: I wouldn't have to hear people prattle on about the 'beautiful graphics'.
I've said it a million times, and I will say it again.
If I want to pay to see something beautiful, I'll go to an Art Museum.
