For me I would get rid of turn-based RPG's. Turn based is retarded. Worms is the only game that ever made it good.
Ok, your turn.

Ha yeah it'd have to be turn based rpgs for me aswell.
Then Fallout would suddenly vaporize, then I'd have to turn on my bloody mess trait and rip you apart limb by limb as you shriek horribly and the blood mixes in with thedirtandI laughandgrindyourfaceintothetarmaAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah... I'd go nuts. This is why these topics really are bad ideas.
still better sacrifice a good game and get rid of all the endless waves of shit of FPS games.
Fix'd. There are far and away more bad FPS's then Turn Based games. Besides, I genuinely think that there are more good TBGs then bad ones.

I would be perfectly fine without RTS.
Never really liked it, and I won't really care if it's gone.
And JRPG's. These things need to be banished off the face of the earth.

I would get rid of no genres- all genres have at least one game that I can like

tbs-ff tactics
rts- warcraft 3
sports- gretzky 94
fps- a lot
stealth- a lot

and so on

nothing.
I don't mind any of them, I just don't play games I dislike, like a normal person.

"Hey guys! Chess is retarded!"

Oh wells. I can't disagree with an opinion...except that this is stated as fact.

Getting rid of one gaming genre...hmmm.
Personally, I think variety is something that is direly needed in today's shrinking market.

But if I were forced to choose (at gunpoint, or as a Hobson's Choice sort of matter): Rhythm-action games. Why? Well, I can effectively recreate these games by tapping my fingers to the beat.

You misinterpret. Its just asking what your least favourite genre is and why don't you like it.

Zynga.

The've made their own kind of genre that resembles filling out a spreadsheet more than a game.

Probably sports games since I never play them. I might say racing, but in risk of the new Twisted Metal belonging there in some weird way I dont dare. Plus I play NFS once a decade.

Tough call, but I'm gonna go with Fighters (Tekken, DOA, Soul Caliber, etc.). I feel I can find some value other than entertainment to most other styles, but Fighters just seem to lack any feeling of worth. This is also because I'm horribly coordinated and fail to do anything that resembles a combo and could care less if this genre disappeared.

Except for the guys over at Arc Entertainment. I love the stories and design that goes along with the Guilty Gear series. But it is just another group of fighters I fail miserably at :\

Sports games.

"For God said "Anyone who waits in blisteringly cold 10 degree weather outside a gamestop waiting for the new Madden that has no improvements and who's roster could easily be updated by a in-game update, shall surly perish in hell."

-RooftopAssassin 21:30

But in all seriousness, I'm tired my my friends saying "DUDE, you gotta get the new Madden; It's so awesome!

JRPGs have way too many old game design flaws and often at times it becomes a grinding boring mess.

Ah, but in RTSs there is a reason why you take turns to attack. It's because you have a cool-down period. Yes, my blows in DA are in real time because no human can repeatedly smash his sword into an enemy without delay.
In turn based combat, eg. Pokemon, Battleon, both your character and the enemy stand there like idiots taking turns to hit each other. What i'm saying is that THIS is retarded.
No, in Dragon Age theres a turn based engine running in the background. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.

Turn based isn't retarded, it's the same thing you are used to, just slowed down.
Trine and Portal are the same thing. There's a physics engine running in the background. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.
Yes it is retarded. No one in their right mind will willingly stand there and let another person hit him, then trust the enemy to stand there while YOU hit him. It's pointless and there is no valid reason for it.
You are not standing there letting them hit you any more than your character in DA is. It is just slowed down so you can do more than click or hit the A button (so you can think about your next move).

In DA (and many other WRPG's) clicking on an enemy is the same as auto-battle in some JRPG's (Final Fantasy XIII not included since it's auto-battle only lasted one round instead the entire battle).
My character in DA is free to move around and dodge enemy attacks. My character in Battleon, on the other hand, HAS to stand there and let the enemy hit him. Turn-based combat is NOT slowed down. IT'S BLOODY FROZEN. In DA, there's a pause button. Now, in this context, the pause button is especially useful as you're controlling 4 characters. In Battleon, I'm controlling one character. I do not really need to be frozen to think things through. I also do not need to be forced to stand there like an idiot and let the enemy hit me.
