If you could do away with 1 gaming genre, what would it be?

Anything featuring tough, grizzled space/earth marines, possibly in powered armor, is banned outright.
EDIT: Oh yes, and those $20 shovelware Wii games that you see in Best Buy.

FPS's.

FPS's just because it'd be nice to see people try to use their imagination more then COD7012 and Halo4251
This, FPS's are all the same, walk around shoot stuff no character development no story (especially MW2) and online where a bunch of 12 year olds who play non-stop constantly knife you.

Fighting games and anything with the name Megaman, or Half Life in it.

Ugh.

...single player survival horror. Survival Horror. SURVIVAL HORROR! DIE DIE DIE DIE WOULD YOU?!

But honestly, I'm a sissy at nature. Doom 1 freaked me out when I was young, I felt sick after playing a bit through my brothers copy of RE4. The Ravenholm chapter of HL2 made me question my bladder integrety. I've never played the Persona or Silent Hill games, but just reading of them on Wikipedia gave me a sleepless night...

But, I've decided I want to actually finish a game like this. To actually face my fear, and develop at least a little bittle courage. So I reinstalled Doom3, which caught me off guard back when I first tried it. And now that I've given it another couple of hours, I can safely say:

...DIE YOU SCARY GAMES! STAY AWAY FROM ME! :(

None, as much as I dislike certain genres, I would never get rid of any of them. Why would I deprive another person of what they find fun? And these topics just degrade into "well I don't like this so therefore it sucks". Better to just ignore what ya don't like then to constantly berate it and enjoy what you do like.

Although if I could, licensed games would probably have the best chances of going because come on, licensed games suck pretty much 90% of the time.

FPS. Hell you can throw most TPS in there with it as far as im concerned.

The reason why? Because for some reason shooter fanboys seem to think no other style of game needs to exist but shooters.

Hrm... indeed.

Movie-Games. They all, save one or two, suck balls and we should just stop trying. Might not be a legitimate genre, but they might as well freaking be.

Hack&Slash games. I'm probably the only person in the world, who thinks that playing Diablo I and II is a torture. The same thing goes with Dungeon Siege, Torchlight, and all others 'click enemy to death and do NOTHING else' games.

And for the people who bash turn-based games so much - FOOLS! Play Heroes of Might & Magic III and reconsider what you've just said. (or Advance Wars. Not as cool as HoMM III, but still really entertaining). First two Fallouts also qualify.

bad games.

Fuck ALL OF YOU. every genre has had great games in them and god damn it, your opinion matters not. MOTHER 3 is a JRPG. Mario cart is a racing game. there was a footbal game with zombies or some weirdness and it was great.

bad games belong to every genre, so don't get rid of a group, weed through them and get rid of the craptastic ones.

EDIT: I officially hate this thread more than I hate square enix. seriously.
