I saw this on the Ricky Gervais SHow, which is hilarious by the way, if you haven't seen it, watch it.

Anywho, the discussion was this: If there was a machine that could allow you to escape reality, lets call it a 'dream machine', but it makes it so real that you don't really have to ever wake up, you age normally in real life, but in the dream machine ANYTHING is possible, living in a magical world with dragons, the future, saving the world as a hero, and if you think things are too happy, make things sad for yourself, emotions are the same as you brain is still active and lets just say that you wouldn't have to worry about real life events like eating and sleeping and other stuff (unless of course a disaster happens in the real world while you are in dream state, but lets not be pessimistic here).

WOULD YOU TAKE THAT OPPORTUNITY TO ESCAPE THE REAL WORLD?

Or you could learn to lucid dream.

That's called having the cake.
And eating it too.

I'd take that opportunity, and then after my dream army is built up we will break the barrier between worlds and invade the real world to make it a better place.

Damn right I would :0

Although it'd be nice if we could get a series of the machines, so you can link up with your friends and share dream worlds. There'd just have to be set borders between different peoples worlds so they don't all mesh into some weird-ass apocalypse. xD

definately if the machine is more of a portal to the other world rather than just a little simulation pod

My word, yes, yes i would.

BADLY.

Edit:

All the way through watching that video (which i do love), i couldnt stop myself thinking that that was wheatley, and how ironic it was that he's talking down to the fellow who meant to be thick.

And to make it worse, Cole Phelps was the investigator!

Yes, but i would end up realising that i had my dreams all along in reality.
Probably in some form of hertwarming adventure featuring David Tenant, David Mitchell and Catherine Tate.
*ahem*
and back to reality...

... not unless i could bring my friends, and ifI was sure my body would be taken care off.

... actually, even then, still no. why? Because life is about tragedy and growing from them. i dont believe in perfect worlds, tehy're too suspect. the urge to have perfection is too easy to fall into, and then its just boring.

Of course.
I might regret leaving all my friends, but then now I get three legions under my command.
A lie or not, I am now the God of this new universe. I can rewrite it so it is truth.
