If you had superpowers would you tell anyone?

Well it's really all in the title. Would you tell anybody about it?

Personally I would only tell one of my friends if anyone but I wouldn't spread it to the world, there'd probably be too many lawsuits if I smashed stuff, or I'd be taken away and researched.

On the other hand I'd get loads of money if people knew my superpowers...but I can't see why I can't gain fame with my mask on.

I'd tell one close friend who would initially help me keep it a secret, but would inevitably turn evil and exploit his knowledge of my identity for his own evil gains.

Oh, and I'd probably eventually reveal it to a lifelong crush. Not for a while, though. Gotta let her fall in love with my alternate identity first.

eh at first no, i would practice night and day to control it till i knew the extent of what i could do, then i would do it to do two things

possibly win me some cash if at all possible (yes, im human, i like money, lay off)

eventually i would tell maybe one or two of my closest friends..but thats it mostly.

Depends on what my superpower is. Think about it: there's a difference between telling the world you're invincible and telling the world that you can climb walls.

Regardless, though, my immediate family would probably find out sooner or later.

Depends on the power. If it's something that might cause some trouble or that I might need help figuring out (EX: Super Strength, Telekinesis) I'd probably tell a few friends who could help me practice and control it. Actually, I'd probably tell a few best friends anyway, on the condition that no one else finds out. And then there's always using it to impress the crush, but I'd like to make sure the girl actually likes me before I go showing off powers.

Hmm I didn't think of that...

Maybe then I'd have tell my friend then secretly "Quieten" them... Though I'd probably need an evil villain to go against.

Even though both of these would probably tumble downhill when everyone's asking "How did he get up there in the first place?"

Only if they asked, and then I'd probably just say "What? I've got superpowers." Just to let them think I'm being deadpan sarcastic.

Otherwise I'd act like it was some phenomenon, anomaly, or hallucination that I did what I did.

That's the beauty of it. You lose a friend, but you gain a dynamic, dramatic villain. Ideally, you'll share with them how you got their powers, so they can attempt to replicate the process, but in trying to boost the effects, things go horribly awry, creating a monster.

Since the only power I would want is teleportation, I guess people would find out cause i'd be blinking around all over the place...

Probably one or two of my closest friends at first, and slowly divulge the secret to more and more people as time goes on (if that's viable).

That way, when I have to perform actions that make me look like a dick for my secret identity, I'll have people who can cover for me. Also, if I ever need back up or help, I won't have to waste time describing the origins of my abilities and all that.

Yeah I guess.. probably wouldn't bother telling anyone if I could like make peas explode or something like that... If I could make people explode though I might have to use that for world domination
