But how would you get the energy into a form? Remember, you can't alter it until after you've made it, and altering pure energy seems difficult.

Energy cannot exist without some medium: there's no such thing as just 'energy'. Heat, light, kinetic energy, all the various radiations sure, but not just 'energy'.

That's my point though, you can only choose one medium to create. Energy is too broad, like food.

Wouldn't creating energy just lead to a massive explosion. similar to what happens when anti-matter comes into contact with normal matter?

Eternal is so that those who argue that you can't be happy forever are shut up. By it's definition you'll be happy for ever. It also means I don't need to refill the happiness if it was only x period of time of happiness.

That's also my "If you had a wish, what would it be?" - Fill the universe with eternally happy life. I don't personally think there's a way to trump that.
