Oh, I am something of a king at bullshitting. After missing a bunch of lectures this semester I had to have a meeting with our head of undergraduate studies this week to address the situation. I managed to completely get away scot-free with the level of bullshit I managed to spout as excuses, coupled with my ability at appearing extremely apologetic (though to be fair I was apologetic anyway, I really didn't intend to miss any lectures, but I also didn't want to get into any trouble regarding my course...).

Anyway, for a paper like that? I'd think up whatever random yet truthful facts I can think of about water and sweet tea and milk the hell out of them. For example I could probably get a hundred words at least, probably much more, purely around the idea that water is okay for diabetics whereas sweet tea could be bad for them. Then I'd spin off on a tangent about the harmful effects of sugar on diabetics, and go off on another tangent about the harmful properties of sugar in general. That would get me a few hundred words in, with another hundred maybe on a little paragraph explaining how that links back to my original point. If I include lots of extra unnecessary words to elaborate then I could push that to at least five hundred words total, possibly up to seven hundred if I'm very lucky and skilled. And there you have more than a third of the essay done based on a single point.

Hey, it's how I managed to avoid failing my English Literature AS-Level :p. Of course, I got tired of having to bullshit on every essay so I dropped it for A2. Still fun though :).
I plan on doing a lot of that, part of my first 100 word paragraph had their similarities including things that you do not want to spill either water or sweet tea on.

You should rethink that point. At least here in Germany, we have to pay for (tap) water.

I have two points that actually aren't bullshit, based on the fact that sweet tea contains sugar:
Sugar contains energy. If your body gets more energy than needed, the excess is stored, and I guess most people here know how bodies store energy.
Sugar serves as food for bacteria in your mouth that produce acids which slowly dissolve your tooth enamel. This process is a lot slower and less efficient than the Aperture Science Object Emancipation Grid though.

Sweet tea is entirely too sugary, most of the supermarket stuff is actually made with a ton of high-fructose corn syrup...
Whereas water is just plain necessary for healthy living. After all, one of the reasons so many Americans are fat is because most of us are borderline dehydrated all of the time.

true, a lot of people actually confuse thirst with hunger and keep eating instead of drinking some water.

In short I would procrastinate and then start making up excuses as to why I hadn't wrote the paper. >.<

Rivers, lakes, streams. They are all sources of free water.
OK, that's true, but looking at most rivers, lakes and streams, would you actually drink that? Of course, there are some really nice clean rivers around, but most of them, at least in an industrially active country, don't really look that tasty.

Mountain-spring water, fresh from a mountain-spring though... man, probably one of the best drinks I ever had.

Here's something to get you started:)

Which is better, Water or Sweet Tea to drink.

This comparison/argument will include all aspects of water and sweet tea as a beverage.

The question at first seems simple and the answer obvious since so many more people drink water or other beverages made from water versus how many people drink sweet tea. The truth though is that when given a choice most people will drink flavored water or another beverage where the basic taste of water has been altered. Sweet tea is one of the ways water can be altered and since it is so popular one would have to assume that for many it is altered in a positive way.

When considering health and dietary considerations pure water is better in most ways then sweet tea. Water by itself replenishes the body's needs, flushes out toxins and does not have a direct effect on sugar levels in the body. Sweet tea can be useful as a quick energy surge or if someone has low blood sugars but as a constant beverage it would probably cause weight gain, sugar level imbalances and if taken at night might cause insomnia as well. In addition sweet tea is probably not great for a persons teeth if consumed regularly and often water has useful additives such as fluoride that help dental health even more. It seems at least from a health perspective that water wins easily.

For most though health alone is not enough. Soda for instance has tons of sugar and can destroy teeth if consumed regularly yet many people drink more soda then water on a regular basis. The same can be said for sweet tea at least for some people. If a survey was taken asking people which they drink they would prefer to have on a regular basis the answer would vary greatly based on the location. In many parts of south it is very likely the answer would be sweet tea. Popularity alone though can not be enough and the true determination must be based on a variety of factors.

Sweet tea can spoil and needs far more preparation and careful storage then water. It can not be used in the creation of many other drinks such as coffee or hot chocolate and does not boil well if you intend on mixing it with foods such as oatmeal. Water can be sweetened and even used to create sweet tea but the reverse is not true, at least not easily and without a mess. Water basically is far more versatile as a drink then sweet tea allowing people to add a endless variety of flavorings to suit their taste. Sweet tea is liked by some but has far less applications then pure water for the majority.

In summary sweet tea is delicious to many and they might vote for it over water because of their personal taste. At the same time many do not like sweet tea at all or have not ever tried it. Water on the other hand has been consumed by everyone at one point in their lives and even if it is not their favorite drink, when they are really thirsty it tastes like ambrosia. Water is better for your health, cheaper, easier to store, far more varied in it's uses and does not create a mess if spilled (in fact it's used for cleaning!). The conclusion has to be that water is superior to sweet tea as a beverage in every way that counts. Some may argue that sweet tea tastes better then water but even for them water has advantages over sweet tea. Life without sweet tea would be a minor annoyance for some but life without water, well there wouldn't be any!!

Water has a W. Need I say more?

Also, who would assign a paper like that?
actually I was told to write a paper on a debatable claim and make it 1500 words long. I want to make it painful to read.
Just write a paper titled:"This is a really stupid assignment and you're a terrible teacher for coming up with it". The teacher will most likely try to defend him/herself, thus proving that it's debatable. Done.

I prefer causing brainsplosions to downright insulting someone. Insults can be overcome, brainsplosions cause irrepairable damage.

Every sweet tea I've ever tasted has been barely flavored at all, and I think that no flavor is better then weak watery flavor.
I'd word it a bit better then that but you get the point.

The guy who serves you the sweet tea could have dipped his dick in it but the water would be to hot.
