Waddayaknow, I'm not alone in my opinion. Have you ever tried the mod CarterEarth? It's pretty peachy. A new map size (Planetary, transl. "Huge Ass"), a new game speed (Odyssey, which is basically Marathon except you get to build faster and do more) and a fairly realistic and well-done scenario/map of Earth. Highly recommended.

[small]Note: If you decide to check it out, and you've updated BtS to 3.19, you're going to need a specific version of the download. PM me in this case, and if you're interested.[/small]
Nope, never tried it. I haven't actually played Civilization 4 in quite a long time, Galactic Civilizations 2 has been my turn-based strategy game of choice of late.

That said I know Civ4 has a massive library of mods, and I loved it when I was playing it, so as far as lasting value goes I expect it'd have longer appeal than even GalCiv2 which has relatively few mods by comparison unfortunately. That's why I chose it for this time.

Might be time for a re-install though, certainly been long enough and that mod sounds interesting, might have to look it up.

WoW, I could play for ages because it doesn't really end. Maybe Gmod because of the variety. Maybe TF2, i haven't played many MMO shooter games but I'm they seem like the kind you could play for a long time without getting bored.

Red Dead Redemption.
No joke. The game is amazing and, contrary to rumours and Youtube vids, my play through thus far has been glitch free! Huzzah!
Great game, and other than the occasional graphics glitch - which we can all agree isn't that unusual for an open world game - my two play-throughs have been glitch free!

My picks would have to be either SimCity 4 or Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword. I can play those games for HOURS!!! Two close runners-up would be Railroad Tycoon 2 and the original Tropico.

Amazing, 2 playthrus and no glitches?! I have seen a number of glitches, including one freeze. But I forgives it, it's damn fun. I can't stop cheating at poker! lol

Probably something with a lot of online capabilities like an MMO.
If I didn't have online? Then Time Splitters 2 without any doubt. Co-op. Split screen multiplayer with bots. Awesome campaign levels. Yessir, definitely TS2.

Just got Starcraft 2 and have to say that. Although it would be a bit of a stretch,

If I had to, I'd probably choose Red Dead. I can't get enough of the story and with the DLC and multiplayer, it's just getting more and more fun ;P

If you had to play 1 game for the rest of your life what game would that be? Mods for the game are allowed.

I'd choose Dawn Of War:Dark Crusade. It still has a large community and it has more mods than I can count.

EDIT:That game never lags, you have a life-time subscription, you can always play it without any problems and the servers are always full.
Hmmm...I hate MMO's but somehow the obvious answer (to me) would be one of them... By 'if you had to play one game for the rest of your life' do you mean that there was only one game available to me (meaning I can choose not to play at all) or that it means that I will be playing it for the rest of my life?

I guess DarkFall or Champions Online would be my answer.

Hm... probably EVE Online. You gotta invest a large amount of time to really enjoy it, and being the only game I could play... yeah.

Elite; that or x3.
not many games I wouldn't get bored of after a long while but those two are the games I play when I've finished everything else.
