Recently ive been coming across alot of people saying things like "If you havent played this game you arent a gamer" or "If you havnt seen this movie you suck" and stuff like that when they just saw it the first time themself maybe a day or two ago

Anyway, whats your opinion on people doing stuff like this?

I personally hate when people say that and they completely ignore that fact that people have different tastes and preferences. I have never seen the God Father, nor other "classics" like Citizen Kane. Yet I do consider myself a fan of movies. I see about half or more of the movies that come out, I hunt down older movies that I haven't seen, and I go to movie marathon events. Yet as soon as I tell people I haven't seen the God Father they are like "OMG WTF, YOU CAN'T CALL YOURSELF A FAN OF MOVIES!!"
I don't see this pop up that much in games because there are very few games that apply to everyone and a lot of really good games are highly category specific.

Although I can't see why anyone would want to refer to themselves as a gamer anyway. I don't call myself a "reader" or a "music listener" so why would I define myself by playing games?

Everyone seems to ***** at me for not playing any Zelda game, to tell the truth, I dont really fucking care if Im a gamer not because of that, My family never had the money to own more then one console and the Playstation is the only console I ever really cared for, everything else at the time was just a big meh to me.

Really I just dont care if anyone says anything like that, I just dont give a damn.

I really really HATE IT when someone says something like that.

Yeah, I hate it whene people say that, people normally tell me I'm not a real gamer because I haven't played any of those...I mean, not my fault I'm younger then you and when I have tried them for an hour or something I didn't enjoy that.

OT:They have no right to determine whether you are or aren't a gamer or move fanatic or anything like that. Saying this to someones is like saying "You haven't heard of a NES?! You fail at life!" to a 4 year old.

That's a ridiculous notion. If you work by that you could play every game in existance except for that one game and still not be considered a gamer.

Well during my younger days everyone in my old negihborhood used to play this one Pac-Man machine in a coner store laundary mat. And if you didn't play it at lease once in front of a group of friends on a friday after school you were not "in" or "hip."

those were the days though back then in the early 90's when eveyone didn't have a game on a cellphone, computer, gaming system or a graphing calulactor.
