I'll make it about the Boxer Rebellion in China, except I'll change it so the kung fu could actually deflect bullets, as was intended.

American Civil War FPS.

Although the game play would be pretty slow for a First Person Shooter, being that after every round you would need to preform a precise quick time event to reload your muzzle loader.

Also, there would be aliens, just to fuck shit up.

I'd love that.

Especially the fuckin aliens.

My ideal war game would be as follows...
It would take place in the future, but not too far in the future. Pretty much as sci-fi as technology could get while still being a reasonable look at something that could realistically exist 50-100 years from now.
Also the war would probably be over fresh water, by which i mean water as a resource not literally fighting over an ocean.

Crimean war game that relives the events from the perspective of a British soldier.

It culminates in the charge of the light brigade where the soldiers ride into the valley of death with cannon fire surrounding them.

An FPS where you decide on tactics and manoeuvres before the mission, and depending on the choice it is more/less difficult. Oh and its set in the first world war but, you play as the Japanese guerillas against the American troops.

If Resistance has taught us anything, Historical Wars + Aliens = Win. (Yes I know they aren't ACTUALLY aliens, but they are in some.. weird.. way)

FPS?

May 1940-June 1940. The player would be a motorized infantryman at the spearhead of the German armored attack through Luxembourg and Belgium, conquering France and forcing the British Expeditionary Force to flee. One of the most successful military campaigns in modern history.

feudal era japan, multi front war, ninjas, pirates, japans army, then a rebel liberation group. you can choose ur faction, each has its own totally awesome campaign like pirates would be a lot of pillaging and raiding while ninjas would be more night time oriented with stealth infiltration and assassination. , create ur own character. sandbox game, each main character is totally detailed from visual appearance to background and life story. itd be tight

I would have the war happen in a universe where Master Cheif had to join with space marines to fight off an invasion of Robots who had accidentally been programmed to capture everyones flag.

it would be well in the future, and we would be invaded by some type of alien force, where our only hope would be a rough and tumble group of men dripping in testosterone and armored to the teeth. Oh wait....

I would like to see a game involving modern war between Canada and Mexico. Or as modern as mexico allows.
I assume the US is gone? Otherwise, I can sort of see it being a barrier between the two countries.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, what would they be fighting over?

I'd make as Braveheart game, but not an RTS like the last one. It would be an RPG of sorts (only the combat wouldn't suck.) You'd play as a warrior in Wallace's army, and you'd be able to customize him, buy better armor and weapons from the local blacksmiths, and as you gained experience, instead of going up a level you'd go up a rank, until you got your own regiment. You'd command with a system similar to GRAW 2's. I think it would be a great game.

I would make a good FPS shooter that takes place in World war 1. Unlike what most people think the war was NOT just about trench warfare, and i think game developers could probably make a good war game out if it. Plus there are many epic battles that took place during that war like the battle of Some and Verdun witch claimed something like a million solders from both sides.
Vimy Ridge might be interesting to play through. I actually thought out a world war 1 shooter in my head earlier, and it turns out it could be fun if made right.

A deep psychological thriller showing the horrors of war. Game play similar to CoD4. The people who give you orders are not nice people. They don't care about civilians. And they will make you follow orders. If you do not, they will kill you. A very atmospheric game. Not only will it show you the horrors of war, it will make you commit them.

Fictional WWIII during the '70s - the height of the Cold War. No stupid high tech, no stupid sattelites, just plain ol' guns and bombs. And tanks. Lots of tanks.
And OFC there would be campaigns for both sides (but the the Soviets would win at the end :)
So...similar to World in Conflict or Freedom Fighters then ? ;)
similar but more realistic, it would contain both strategy (similar to Total War campaign map) and FPS parts. The player could choose what kind of army he would build and what he will do with it, and (again similar to Total War) when the battles happen, the player would have the choice of participating in it, in a FPS way. For reasons of realism the players deaths and kills would affect the numbers of the armies involved. Oh and he would be able to drive any vehicle that his army posesses. OH and the graphics would be awesome! OH and it wouldn't be too strong on the hardware! Yeah... that would be awesome

Luckily enough theres about 4,000 games that fit that exact date
See my post above ;)

PS: Could you reccomend any of those 4,000 please? I've already played Operation Flashpoint, ArmA, Freedom Fighters, World in Conflict (and Soviet Assault), Red Alert (1 & 2, i don't like 3). Thanks :)
