I'd go for ghost: Ghastly, Gengar, etc. I love those Pokemon. The gym puzzles are always fun, too.

And all led by my douchebag Absol, carrying Mean Look, Taunt, Sucker Punch, and Psycho Cutter.
No Tyranitar. Too easy of a choice.

No Metagross. Again, too easy.

I'm tempted to swing either Rock, Steel, or Ground... leaning towards Ground. I could have both Marowak AND Flygon! ON THE SAME TEAM!

It would be fantastic. It'd be totally unbalanced and not really proper of a gym leader, but meh, I wants me my awesome ground types.
I'd go for Water Pokemon with a Psychic twist, for example

Basically all able to be packed full of water attacks and psychic...gives them SOME defense against an electric attacker, and ice moves can deal with grass...
I'd normally pick Dragon, mainly because the idea of my Salamance and Dragonite and Gyarados seems so awesome to avoid, but it would feel like cheating.

i'd just have one arcanine and destroy all you foolz with my OP lvl 100 arc XD .. since he's the ONLY pokemon i train ..

I wouldn't have a set type, but instead my list would be a mix of 6 different elements.
1 fire type.(Charizard)
2. Wind Type (Flying) (Pigeot)
3. Water Type (Gyarados)
4. Earth Type (Rock) (NidoKing)
5. Lighting Type (Zapdos) Also suffices as another Flying type.
6. Dragon type (Dragonite, just for sheer power) Also the leader of my Pokemon Group.
I've only ever played Pokemon Blue and this is the list I always go for, plus some of the Pokemon can learn extra moves, for example Gyarados can learn Ice and Dragon Based moves, as well as water techniques.

I would choose electric Pokemon. Electric types were my favorite when i was a die hard Pokemon fan in my younger years. Yes, i already know about L.T Surge...... I don't like him that much.

Water. Water has always been my favorite type and I always pick a water stater. The only hard part is that everyone knows what it's weak against... so as a back up plan I'm going to train dark type as well. Here's hoping for some sort of water ghost in the future.
EDIT: Since we're giving our lineups here, I would pick Empoleon, Blastoise, Feralitgatr, Mudkip, Vaporeon, and Gengar just to throw people off.
