If you were/are in a band, what music would you play?

So any musician who dreams to be in a band or even have his own solo project wishes to play his/her music that he/she likes most. So what music would you play?

Lately I've been switching between genres too many times, but currently I'm thinking of playing a style between doom metal and progressive metal, similiar to bands like October Tide or Novembre.

Either that or just play one genre such as melodic death metal, power metal, or thrash metal.

I just couldn't choose any one genre, I like too much music. I'd probably avoid straight techno though (electronic music is okay as long as I'm playing an instrument), as I prefer playing guitar to learning to be a DJ and having to be stationary.

Me and my housemate are starting a project band based on glam/filth metal. I play guitar and he sings and we're searching for other musical components to make up a drummer, bassist and rhythm guitarist.

I would play the guitar and be generally awesome.

I'm currently doing some solo acoustic-rock but once I get my new amp I'm transfering it into kind of standard (maybe slightly punk) rock. Kind of a Mix between 'Rise against' and 'City & Colour'.

probably rock/metal right now.

Although I wouldn't mind being in a jazz/fusion group once I get more experienced in that genre.

EDIT: also being in a trance/art/progressive rock group would be sweet too

Amen to that brother TMBG are one of my favorite bands of all time!

But strangely I would form a victorian music hall group that cover metal songs and in fact I am in the new year!

I will no doubt make a post of this music at some point!
