In my old band we were pop-punk and it was just too... soft for me. So if I start a new band it'll be more old school hardcore punk

Though I exist on primarily black and death metal, I would create a one-man band and produce some seriously dark ambient metal with death riffing, black leads, maybe some whispered/chanted passages, violin, grand piano, perverted church organ. And flutes. Yes, flutes. A very sad instrument, that.

One-man, because I don't like others getting dirty fingerprints all over my work.

I like loads of styles, I got back to the ole classic composers, but if I were to be in a band (which I am) and write my own stuff (WHICH I DO!) I'd probably play some good, powerful HARD ROCK and HEAVY METAL!!!
It's the way of life :D

Hmm, toughie. Probably something along the lines of Dark Tranq style melodeath or Rush-esque rock

I'd like to play noise-rock/shoegaze kind of stuff, but the people I play occasionaly with find it boring. Post-rock, too. My guitar skills are also abysmal..

I'd probably like to play either some sort of progressive/technical death metal, or EBM/industrial/synthpop.

Instrument: Drums
Old Jazz like Louis Armstrong and Edmond Hall
Old rock and roll like Eagles, Doobie brothers, queen, stuff like grateful dead, guys like stevie ray vaughn, David Bowie, thin lizzy, with a little guns and roses.
I recently got into stuff like fort minor and bionic jive

I would play Industrial synth-folk metal with a touch or death metal thrown in. And I would play the oboe.

Seriously? Everyone is in on the whole metal thing? Does anyone listen to/ play anything else.

On Topic...I'd have to completely transform myself into something else to be even close to able to be in a band. But should that miraculous transformation one day happen: either Singer/ songwriter confessional or Indie/ Alternative grrl rock.

I'm an angry chick who digs on poetry, so sue me.

though i'd really watch criticising music, some people get very precious about their tastes.
Just avoid mentioning Burzum. Good or bad, doesn't matter; when someone brings up V.V., the trolls crawl out in waves.

sorry, why is that a problem? i'm kind of not really in to the whole metal scene that comes with the music, bit...well.
That one carries a history. But any conversation dealing with it rapidly devolves into the social argument of guilt or innocence, and a flamefest ensues. Wiki it if you're interested.

Melodic death metal. Playing beautiful melodies, and destroying people's ears at the same time. :D
