I'd like my band to play melodic death metal, but they won't do anything other than rock.

If I were a band's creative director we'd probably end up sounding most like Nirvana or Soundgarden. I don't really care much for really complex instrumental parts, but it'd still sound forceful and noisy. And I already write lyrics that you need a PhD in poetry to understand, so I guess I'm halfway there.

I play rock, blues, hard rock, punk, a tiny bit of metal (when I collab with my buddy Jon) etc.

Drums. I'm no good at singing, never got the hang of the keyboard, and never bothered with guitar or bass. However, according to people who saw me play Guitar Hero: World Tour over New Year, I was pretty good with the drums (bearing in mind I've never played them before in my life), and it's something I've always wanted to learn. So yeah, I'd elarn the drums then play those in a band...

In a band, we play basically any form of rock that does not have the words "pop" or "soft" in it.
Okay, PopPunk, but that doesn't really count, does it?

We play covers of Offspring, Sum 41, Motley Crue, Van Halen, The Who, Rise Against, Iron Maiden, etc., etc., you get the idea.

Though i'm in a band right now only some of my ideas are used as we write the music together but if i were to decide completely by myself it would probably be something with the sound of early Muse with a progressive touch.

I've always wanted to play the violin in a punk-folk band, think The Pogues, Levellers, Flogging Molly etc... I'd love to learn but it's sort of an antisocial instrument to try and teach yourself whilst sharing a house with four other guys and lessons are expensive!

Either that or bass in a ska band.

I'm already in a band. We play a wide variety, but mostly punk (Misfits style), rock (think classic rock), and metal (Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Manowar, Metallica, etc)

We would cover Muse. All. Day.

Except for Undisclosed Desires. Screw that song.

I'd play something largely based on grunge that isnt grunge and doesn't steal what grunge was, and doing something like alice in chains and mixing it with metal sounds

i know im gonna sound gay and retarded but id like to be sort of like McFly , or something along them lines, (but i wouldn't copy off them)

the reason is i hate really heavy stuff usually, and bands like McFky and boys like girls are the heaviest i like

yes im probably the only guy on the escapist to say i like pop music...deal with it=P hehe
