I've lived in Norway about five years now, so naturally I'm a bit closer to the BM scene on the day to day. I can tell you this though: Not all black is depressing. It's more about setting an atmosphere for a story to be told in, than about being depressive. truth be told i tend to go for stuff more like dimmu borgir (i don't like low-production metal, tends to get a bit sludgey) but thats still depressing isn't it? its why i like bands like rammstein, they do their show, bow and leave. they're consumnate professionals.
