1. A survival horror coop game. Mostly because everyone says it can't be done. I think it can. You just have to be very careful with it. "LOL YOU HAVE FRIENDS IT CAN'T BE SCARY" is somewhat true, but if you're not looking to be scared >_> why are you playing a horror game? I think I could pull it off if I knew what I was doing, but I'm getting there. I'm not sure if I want zombies or the supernatural though. The protagonists aren't going to be high school kids. I also won't be giving lots of ammo that's for sure.
I've given this one some thought in the past and I think that it could actually work well within the context of a Silent Hill game.
Consider this: After working together for the first couple hours, the game suddenly reaches a point where one of the characters is tossed into the otherworld, while the other player stays in the real world. They cannot see or communicate with each other, but the actions that they take in their respective worlds has an effect on the other allowing the game to move forwards.
Given this is Silent Hill there could also be opportunities to really muck with the players heads. Say there's a point later in the game, where our characters meet up and we jump to a cut-scene as they deliberate over previous events and discuss what to do next. however, each player is given a very different cinematic, so that later on in the game, it allows the characters and players to question each others decisions even though in the context of THEIR story what they are doing makes perfect sense.
I also like the idea of the world being slightly different. So in a particular hallway, one character comes across an impassable wall of flame, however the other character simply walks through it. What the first character doesn't realize is that on the other players screen, there is no fire, just an empty corridor.
Maybe I've given this too much thought, but I reckon you could have some fun with this.
