Story: You weren't not the only one who can save the world, but you ended up killing the other guy during the tutorial, so you must save Protect the lands from A rising dictator of sorts. Later on in the story the Dictator gets killed by his Advisor, who turns out to be some form of lesser demon (Story is work in progress).
Gameplay: Throughout your journey, you will meet various supporting characters, each with their own backstory, quest line, and specialty. These characters can be used as a romance or a member of a harem if the player is careful and skilled. Who you choose can effect the story as well as opening up and altering quests.
Combat system will involve various forms of Magic, Melee, and Ranged combat (An old-but-reliable system).
Using different types of magic will make one more skilled in the spells type, element, and the spell itself, as well as making the spell less likely to backfire.
Different weapons with different styles and levels for each type and subset. (Being skilled in the mace will affect Blunt, helping one use the Hammer, but will also raise the Mace skill) Raising these skills will make one use the weapon with more finesse (When one first picks up a weapon, the character swings it akwardly and can even let go of it durng a power attack).
Ranged combat will use variants of bows, crossbows, and Fuse lit hand Bombs , with each having it's own pros and cons. The Bow will fire quickly, but one can drop the arrow or it can slip when one is unskilled with it. The crossbow fires at a decent speed and has great power, but it can jam if the player is unskilled, causing frustration and making the player vunerable to attack. The Bombs are extremely powerful, but require a different style of aim, and when the player is unskilled in them the player can light the fuse too short (causing it to blow up near the player), drop the bomb mid throw, and will usually mess up his throw.
Food can be used to heal and strenghten the player temporary, giving different short term and long term benefits, while the diet of the player (What the player eats, how much the player eats within a period of time) can effect the players weight, slowing him down, but making him more resisitant to melee attacks.
Crafting will be a possibility, but certain items fall undr categorys, as well as having their own sub-category. Low skill will make one mess up the crafting (Warped Arrows, The ingredients for the bombs exploding in ones face, food poisoning, etc) but when one gets skilled the player will make cratfs of excellent quality (Food will have extra benefits, bombs will have levels of poison gas mixed with the explosion, Arrows will fly further and can go through enemies)
That's all I have figured out so far.
