Meh, world domination never really was my thing though. It would be OK...for a while. However, eventually I would become bored with the notion, and allow a rebellion just so I could have an excuse to completely slack off.
@Stranger: Slack off? Rebellions are the perfect opportunity to go out and field test new weapons.
@Alpha: I usually do that while I have a populace cowering in fear of my might. Much easier, and far less planning involved.
And by slack off, I mean, completely abandon the capital and all it workings to disappear from the public eye, leaving everyone to wonder what happened.

@Stranger: I was always pretty partial to disappearing from the capital for a few weeks before blasting it from space with laser weaponry. We do have space based laser weapons, right?
