@Zer: In all honesty I found Gurren Lagann to be average at best. It is too hyped up on this site and around me and my friends that when I finally watched it I liked it with all the hype but now it has sunk down to average. But I've been meaning to watch Evangelion. Then again there are hardly any anime and manga that I will fully watch and what not.

I went into Gurren Lagann with zero hype before-hand. I had honestly never heard of it before. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was and honestly shocked when Kamina
died
(Not much of a spoiler anymore, but whatever). The whole thing was completely new to me and it played out gloriously as a result. Hype usually does terrible things for anime. Like turning my love for Death Note into pure hate. I got into Death Note a ways before it became popular. As soon as it did, though, it exploded and I honestly couldn't stand it anymore.

On the subject of anime, have you seen D.Gray-Man yet?

I got into One Piece when everyone was still calling it crap. Now everyone is suddenly getting into it when before I would see them bad mouthing it. I fear the hype may kill One Piece from it's lovely perch that it's been on and that people have ignored for mostly 10 years. The hype from my friend who is more of a Gurren Lagann fan than I am a One Piece fan would just spout on and on about it until I finally watched it to shut him up. It was good but I could point out many of the cliche's in it. Plus I guessed that would happen to Kamina because the opening did not portray him as the main character. When you're not the main character(s) you have a larger chance of dying.
I actually have heard and seen some of D.Gray-men and I like it. I might start reading it and watching it before the hype kills it.

Watch it first. The anime, aside from filler, is unusually strong. Especially after the plot picks up. You have to read after that, however, as the anime is no where near caught up. They seem to be waiting until they have enough material for another arc before adding more to the anime. As far as D.Gray-Man goes for me, there's a turning point about half-way through, a big one, one that changes everything about the main character, where the series really picks up and stops being good and heads toward great. Its no Trigun, but its getting closer.

Also, if you are going to dive into Evangelion, try to watch everything in chronological order. The new movies, while a remake, harken back to the old anime a great deal. It would be like watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood without seeing the original first. You may get the new stuff, but you don't pick it all up because it was detailed in the old stuff.

Elk hunting, eh? I've never seen an elk. Wrong part of the world.
Just deer. Just regular plain old delicious deer.
Best of luck. Break a leg. Theirs, not yours.

Hehe...
Nothing wrong with that, Zero.
Venison is delicious. Heck, the family usually sends some over after hunting season. Its always good, no matter how it is prepared.
