Any one see the film ones....seriously guys why did they put every harry potter film in? I'm no fan but if I step aside from any fanboyishness.....those movies were kinda lame...any one else?
thats what i was going for, its "faster", due to it being a spasm movement in your arm, and i dont see too many pc tourny's around, so i dont know where you are but all the competitive ones i see are usually by console, depending on what game it is at the timeSentox6 said:I'm pretty sure every player at a competitive tourney would use M&KB in a PC FPS. If you're not competitive, then it's not such an issue. Some people find controllers more comfortable, and will happily forgo the edge afforded by a mouse. Controllers obviously are a better fit for certain genres (think DMC), and on a console, there may not be a viable option. All I'm saying is that, for aiming at targets on a pseudo-3D plain, a mouse is simply superior. Doesn't mean you have to use one, though.gmaverick019 said:thats not really what i was going for, but why wouldn't everyone just use keyboard and mouse then? its obviously not that hard to just have a port for them to hook up, so why not?? why not use keyboard and mouse at every single tournament gaming wise?
Decade?shroomz said:What about Starcraft and Diablo 2?
I'm guessing it's because GTA III was a greater step forward from GTA II than Vice City and San Andreas were from GTA III. It made the 3D sandbox thingamajig. San Andreas added features and stuff, but the great big smack of a change came from GTA III going 3D. Just look at what 3D did to Worms. It was a risky business back then and GTA pulled it off.Onyx Oblivion said:They meant San Andreas, right? GTA 3 is shit compared to San Andreas.
It was released in 2000, that's technically still less than 10 years agoSentox6 said:Decade?shroomz said:What about Starcraft and Diablo 2?
And Diablo 2 is simply not as important to the collective gaming world as CS.
By "decade" I was referring to StarCraft, which came out in '99.shroomz said:It was released in 2000, that's technically still less than 10 years ago![]()
Ah. In that case my bad. Still an amazing game though, but unfortunately outside the scope of the threadSentox6 said:By "decade" I was referring to StarCraft, which came out in '99.
You haven't read my other post explaining more about my feelings about this. I feel WoW deserves a place on the list because of its ubiquity, its staying power, and its propensity to grow indefinitely without alienating both its target audience AND its extraneous audience. The game is *still* popular after all these years. This speaks to both its replay value, and its universality. You are correct; just because it makes a lot of money [sic] doesn't make it good. But the fact that it's more recognized, and played, than basically anything that came out in 2004 (or really, in the last 5 years) definitely shows that it's doing something correctly.Zedzero said:FANBOY!!!!!!!!!!HollywoodH17 said:Notably missing is World of Warcraft. Someone fucked up; it's the most successful, most widely-played, most lucrative online game *of all time.* Think about this: it came out maybe six years ago, and STILL over 12 million people actively play it. I dare you to find me a higher credential. Everyone was apparently busy blowing Gordon Freeman in 2004, though, so he beat WoW.
Just becuase it makes a lot of moeny doesn't make it good.
True True... I'm not saying that Call of duty, halo, or wow is should not be up on the list (beacuse they really should with how many people play them) I'm just saying that it was funny that the 3 games you picked were some of the most overrated games in hype vs quality those games were good but not THAT good. WOW advertising on every website I'm on, remember the launch for halo 3, (the first one was actually kind of underrated....hmm) and call of duty 4 vs halo 3.MetallicaRulez0 said:Well, opinion is opinion and all that, but no I don't think they are. They became so popular for a reason: they're really damn good. The games I mentioned as overrated are good, but I don't think "Game of the Decade" material when I hear Okami or KOTOR.Punisher A.J. said:Aren't they to overrated? Like REALLY overrated? Like REALLY REALLY REALLY overrated. Kotor was actually very interesting and what the hell is okami?MetallicaRulez0 said:I must have missed something here.
KOTOR is overrated.
Okami is overrated.
Grand Theft Auto was innovative, but ultimately overrated.
Where is WoW?
Where is Halo: Combat Evolved?
Where is Call of Duty 4?
These are 3 of the most influential games of the decade, and they get shunned. I know I know, opinion is opinion, yada yada.
