Thanks for the clarification. It was mostly meant in jest as I've never played the Commodore but was referring to Yahtzee's adoration of it. Also, my info was unreliable, because it was listed on WIkipedia's "game console" list.RAKtheUndead said:The C64 was a home computer rather than a console. As a personal computer of sorts, it would not and should not be present on the list, regardless of its (considerable) success.captain awesome 12 said:Oh and where the hell is the Commodore 64 on that list?
There are no hand-held consoles either, but even if there were, do you really think they'd include that waste of plastic, silicon and metal? I may be prejudiced against the iPhone, but frankly, it's even worse at playing games than it is at being a smartphone. The lack of buttons and total reliance on a touch screen do not serve it well, and there's a greater proportion of shovelware for it than any other mainstream current-generation handheld, even if everybody seems to be wanting to jump onto the bandwagon.Uncompetative said:Where's the iPhone?
Agreed, only replace Panzer Dragoon Saga and NiGHTS with Bug Too! (actual game name) and Sonic 3D Blast (That's right, and it was one of my favorite Saturn titles) in my case. I occasionally brought it out to see if it still worked (it does, but the audio is somewhat funky) and loved playing it again.Remleiz said:Yay the Saturn is there
*cuddles own sega saturn* One of the most underrated systems ever, but i love it *has complete copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga and NiGHTS
Now see, that's funny. Clearly if you read the link in the OP you would know that the list is NOT (I capitalize because I think you might miss the point) about which console you should immediately go and buy rather it is about which console was most influential, the console that had the most beneficial impact on the gaming industry. The current gen consoles are too young to judge their impact on the market until further time passes but it is obvious what the older generations have done. Hence, the NES winning.NezumiiroKitsune said:So we should all run out and buy NES' forsaking our current gen consoles entirely. What a pointless list. Beyond anything how did the Dreamcast get a decent rank. It wasn't a good console!
1. It was the first console with a built-in modem, thereby paving the way for online console gaming.NezumiiroKitsune said:So we should all run out and buy NES' forsaking our current gen consoles entirely.
