If it's a shooter, I'm either a sniper or a sneaky backstabber.

If it's an RPG like Morrowind or Oblivion, I'm either the ridiculously overpowered mage or the not-so-overpowered mage/dungeon crawler.

I'm always the Medic/Cleric. Well mostly so I can heal myself. And ok healing other people can help to...

The loner mage, typically- I don't take no shit from anyone, even with my lowered defences.

I like playing medic (so, healer) in online FPS games, as well- it is oddly cathartic to do so in that Killzone 3 online "beta"

I, and on behalf of everyone else, salute you. Your sacrifice will not go unnoticed.

I usually play mage or assorted magic user in fantasy type games. If I'm able to, I like to play a combat/ magic hybrid (Spellsword/ Vanguard etc.)

In RPGs I am always the AoE instakill mage that melt all the occupants in a room with a with a spell. Ex: Storm of the Century in DA:O

In mmos i'm either the aforementioned mage or a healer.

In BFBC2 i'm a medic

In CoD i'm the asshole that gaurds somewhere by surrounding the doorway in c4 and waiting for someone to blow up, then I scavenge more c4. That or i'm the guy that put c4 right in front of your claymore.

I don't play a lot of team based games, but I'm always the buff/ debuff guy. It's my favorite roll, I feel wanted!

I always play sniper or sneaky invisible dude. And damn am I good at those roles. I can get headshots in Halo on fast-moving targets when I'm in a vehicle being driven by the world's worst driver, and if I'm playing something stealthy and don't want to be seen then believe you me, I will never be seen.

The glass cannon. I will mess you up, but please don't hurt me! I'm so fragile... And occasionally support. I got your back, buddy!

Pen and paper RPGs? Always the fighter/ controller. I love having enough hit points to smack things around and gain tactical advantage.

Video games? Rogue or lone wolf only because sneaking around is a lot more fun in video games.

I'm the stealthy thief, and I'm always an archer. Because, of course, I'm a coward master of stealth and surprise, and I don't want them to hit me enjoy sniping my foes from afar.

I usually end up going towards support classes such as medic/healers. Especially if it's hectic and you are right in the middle of it all keeping everyone alive it's quite fun.

Although I can pretty much play anywhere I'm needed so I guess I can also say "I'm always the guy who changes classes when 'X' is needed"

Same here.

In shooters I tend to use 'one shot one kill' weapons. Like sniper rifles or shotguns.

Usually the tank or something equivalent. I don't have the patience to sneak around stuff and am not really good in the support role. The more firepower the better.

It depends. In multiplayer class-based games I'm fine with switiching to support if there's a clear lack of it in the team, though it's not my preferred role. I mostly prefer to play as the ranged damage specialist: Perhaps physically weak up close, but able to place deadly and accurate fire on the foe from afar. So basically mage, sniper, or a similar class/role.

I return that salute. Also you're right, I've noticed that a team with a medic in TF2 will most always beat a team without.
