I play Indy games and such. Try Mount and Blade (Some of it's mods are great. Try Prophesy of Pendor for it, cranked all the way up after you get some experience in Vanilla.) Very enjoyable.
This only ever really happens to me on a very short term basis. My cure is playing flash games; simple, fun, and easy to come by. Or, try games you haven't tried before. Look for expansions to some of your old games. For instance, Divinity 2: Ego Draconis is coming out with a 20+ hour expansion to wrap everything up (Hopefully. ) They've revamped it with a new engine that makes it look much, much better. That news caused me to get out of a recent slump. I bought Ego Draconis (Love it, so far. ) and I'm playing through now; awesome.

If push comes to shove, get together some friends and stuff and go online. I'll get a new Free Roam session with some good friends on RDR and tear up the West. That should spark your interest in RDR again. Heh.
Good luck!

I'm in one of those phases at this moment, although I discovered the reason was because I have bought nothing but shooters for a while. So I'm going to buy Demon's Souls and revisit Oblivion.

Im a little like that at the moment too. I usually play single player games for about 2 hours or so now, before switching off.
No more multiplayer
No more all nighters
My eyes and thumbs most likely thank me for it.
I think the main reason is that all/vast majority of my games are from either early last year or older and I rarely buy DLC.

At least I have a now Girlfriend to fill the voi....
Wait a second......

Oh my god, I'v changed! SHE CHANGED ME! AHHHH!
oh well.

I occasionally get bored. I'll spend a few weeks, maybe even months just not bothering, then something sparks my interest and I come back to it. It's like a cycle.

Just take a quick breather. Usually I find myself becoming desperate when I play games too much. When you return you'll find a lot to catch up on.

I am a lot less of a gamer than I used to be. Games are becoming mediocre and Gamers have seen it all. Just wait it off, read a book, try playing Tropico 3 (it is unique) and use the Escapist for a while. Go on a reading binge, it's cheaper.

Then come back with a vengeance.

I'm bored with gaming, but it's because there just don't seem to be any games worth playing these days. Fallout Vegas modded up the ass might be worth something but I don't see it being any better than 3. Fully auto rocket launcher? Give me a fucking break.

I have to agree with some of the other posters, When you get bored of video gaming just forget about it for a while. Maybe pick up another hobbie like a sport or storywriting; When you feel like your ready (And you will know when your ready) give a new game a try and see what happends the chances are you enjoy yourself again...

Remember all of us get the Video games burns it's a part of life, when it's your daily rountine you bound to get bored of it at some point.

I really am. I never thought I'd see the day, but here it is. I cannot be bothered to play video games anymore.
Wow wow wow, just hold up there. When you're tired of gaming you're tired of living... either that or you seriously need to buy more games.

So, either buy more games or jump off a bridge.

Totally just take a break. It's kind of like really good food. If you keep eating it everyday, you're going to get sick of it if it's more of the same.

Enjoy some other hobbies; come back later when you actually -want- to play (instead of having to force yourself, you know what I mean?)

Stop playing and do something to better yourself. As much as I love gaming it is an empty waste of time. Get away from it, learn an instrument, become a doctor, save the world . . . or maybe just take a break for a while and pursue other interests for a time. :D

Try Playing an MMO. AS weird as it sounds, its mixing it up enough for most people. Don't stay long and don't pay (I do not condone Illegal Downloads, But you should play WoW on a Free to Play server). But go. Have Fun. Come back to consoles and go... Fuck this is actually pretty engaging!
Guy has a point. Whenever I get sick of any of my games I just bum around in Runescape for a month or so, then when I get back I'm like "Wow this is so much more fun than mining!"

Also try branching out. Grab Steam and browse through the discount games, never know what you'll pick up. I got Torchlight a few weeks ago on the cheap and it fills the gaps between playing ME2 and MW2 quite nicely.
